So I am new to this community and also new to Steemit, I joined the esteemed few months ago and started exploring it and finding a way to write and engage with the Steemian. Also, I found out about contests that are organized by a community member and I like to thank @turituri for hosting such good contests that are related to photography, As I love to click photography and also love to travel and explore different locations around me.
So I visited one of the historical places near my town and I always love a historical place because they always remind us of what we have and how our ancestors lived. on the past and I am curious to know the history of this town by the way it's located in Lucknow and named as Residency. Lucknow is the capital city of Uttar Pradesh In India.
So let's talk about the history of this residency town, Do resident was built by the Nawab of Lucknow around 1800 for the British people who came to India, and also they are advisors of Nawab (as governor). There are many British living there so there is a church available and also many different structures are available for the British people. but after the independence of India, all British people left the place and ten this place comes under the government of India and also this place is concert as a historical site and many structures remain as it is and some are converted as museum and park.
There is an entry fee that is around 20INR so I purchased the ticket and entered the compound of residency and is just a huge historical site with lots of structures and a park part there is also a little mosque which is built by the Nawab of Lucknow marries a British woman and then hi-build a private house for his wife and also build a mosque for religion practice, there is also a graveyard for Christian. It's just a magnificent place to visit that is located in the heart of Lucknow.
