Fujian Tulou（福建土楼）

Fujian Tulou is a unique architectural form in Fujian Province and one of the precious heritages of traditional Chinese architecture. They are listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and are known as a "living history museum".
Fujian Tulou are mainly located in the Tulou Scenic Spots in the southern part of Fujian Province, among which Nanjing Tulou Cluster and Yunshui Rhythm Tulou Cluster are the most famous. These Earthen Buildings are large-scale architectural complexes constructed from natural materials such as stone, earth and wood. Their outer walls are made of thick, rammed adobe, while their interiors are predominantly wooden. Earthen Buildings are usually round or square in shape and can be up to several storeys in height, with the tallest Earthen Buildings reaching more than five storeys. The outer walls of the Tulou are sturdy and durable, able to withstand natural disasters such as typhoons and earthquakes.
The interior of the Tulou is divided into several rooms, each of which has a specific function, such as a living room, kitchen, and storage room. Each room has windows and doors to ensure ventilation and light. The Tulou also has internal staircases and corridors to make it easy for residents to move up and down inside the building.
