Cultivation of Abacaxi Pineapple Plants Organically
Hello friends of Steemit Garden, I hope you are always in good health and blessed. I'm very happy to be able to share posts about gardening activities again. I hope the writing that I post can provide useful knowledge for all of you.
Last afternoon I didn't work so I had free time to see the Pineapple plants in the garden. The garden is located behind my grandmother's house which is only about 20 meters from my house. In the garden which has an area of about 20 x 30 m, there are various types of plants, including Pineapple.
After I counted, we have 12 pineapple trees growing in the garden. This pineapple plant is cultivated by my mother. After being planted in the garden, we don't do much care for this pineapple plant, so its growth seems so slow.
In my garden there are already 2 pineapple trees that are bearing fruit at a young age. This pineapple plant is cultivated traditionally and only relies on the concept of organic cultivation. By utilizing the yard yard, we have cultivated several types of plants organically that can support food needs.
To note, Indonesia is also one of the countries that cultivate the pineapple plant commodity. Pineapple can thrive in tropical areas such as Indonesia. In addition, this plant which has the Latin name Ananas comosus is also very easy to cultivate in various places, including in the yard of the house.
Along with the times and increasing knowledge, pineapple plants have become an economic support sector from the agricultural sector. Pineapple plants can be a quite profitable business, because pineapples can be processed into various types of food such as jam, salad ingredients, fruit ice, juices, various processed sweets, or consumed directly. Pineapple fruit that has a sweet taste and mixed with acid has a lot of vitamin C.
The pineapple plant in my garden is the Abacaxi Pineapple type. This type of pineapple plant can grow easily in the tropics. Pineapple Abacaxi can also grow easily both in the highlands and lowlands.
This type of pineapple has pointed and prickly leaves on the edges of the leaves. While the fruit is pale yellow with scales on the outside of the fruit. The fruit is wrapped in leaves that look like scales around it.
This pineapple can weigh up to 1 kg more. If it is large, the fruit will be oval in shape and appear elongated upwards. This pineapple has a fruit with dense flesh and a lot of water content.
In addition, this type of pineapple is also very rarely affected by pests and diseases. It can even reduce the work to maintain it. Like the pineapple plant in my garden, after being planted one year ago, this pineapple plant was allowed to grow naturally and only relied on watering from rain water.
As for the nursery, it is taken from the stem shoots at the end of the fruit. Fruits that have stem shoots are selected with the characteristics of dense leaves, brightly colored leaves, and stem shoots height of more than 30 cm. These stem shoots are then planted in the soil that has been given a hole.
Usually pineapple plants will thrive in areas of land that have sufficient water intensity and can be exposed to sunlight. In addition, we should be able to plant pineapples on soil that has been loosened with a hoe and soil that has nutrients. Stem shoots that have been planted into the hole, then covered again with soil.
Next we need to do watering around the soil that has been planted with stem shoots. Further plant care can be done by providing fertilizer and cleaning weeds around the plant. Usually this type of pineapple plant will be harvested at the age of 1 year.
Thus my post about pineapple plants. Hopefully this post can be useful and provide education for all of us. Thanks for reading and leaving a comment.
