Hello steemit travel friends.
Tells about the cold city of Takengon, precisely in Central Aceh district, Aceh Province which is already familiar to the people of Aceh in particular. An area that has its own characteristics is the Gayo tribe. Known for various aspects that are very prominent, both aspects of tourism diversity, strong customs, and plants that thrive in this area.

Talking about the gayo community, especially since I am a gayo native who was born and raised in the Gayo Tanoh Highlands, it is very possible for me to share stories, experiences and knowledge and identify the characteristics that I know as a gayo community.

I am very happy to be able to share and introduce my birthplace, so that it will be widely read and will be known in various parts of the world. On this occasion I will share my knowledge and experience about the Gayo Coffee Plant.

As we know, the majority of people in various parts of the world, especially coffee lovers, are definitely familiar with the Gayo Coffee brand which has many types. However, as a farmer's son, here I will describe more about coffee farming in Gayo Takengon.

In general, every Takengon community must already have a coffee garden, it would not be nice to live in Takengon without a coffee plantation. Even if they are not managed by the owner themselves, they are collected as assets. And the majority of children, teenagers, adults especially parents in Takengon are certainly very knowledgeable in the management and maintenance of coffee plantations in Takengon.

So is my case. Within a month, I will definitely be harvesting coffee in my parents' garden. On Saturday and last Sunday, 2 days in a row, my parents and I picked coffee, which on average every tree has started to bear fruit.

The method of picking coffee is by picking only red fruit, but in the process of picking the harvester must be careful and careful. Be careful to actually finish the red fruit in one tree, because if any are left behind then the fruit will turn black and then dry up and fall off on its own.

You have to be careful if on a coffee tree there are coffee cherries that are already red, some are green, some are small (pistils) and there are coffee flowers. Because if you are not careful in picking the red coffee cherries, the green fruit, small fruit (pistil) and even flowers are worried that they will fall off which should be harvested in the next harvest.

For those who are used to picking coffee, it is not difficult. As for the tools needed in picking coffee, only a container for collecting coffee that has been picked called a "Kantong". This bag is made of sack/burlap material which is sewn like a sideways bag, so the harvester slings the bag around the body like wearing a bag.

The size of the contents of the bag varies, there are 3 bamboos, some even 5 bamboos. Like what I use when picking coffee, I can only use 3 bamboos. Because if it is too big it will be very heavy on the shoulders when it is full.

In the process of picking coffee, there are many types of coffee trees that we will encounter. There are lush trees that have lots of leaves and lots of fruit, and some have trees that aren't too thick but have lots of fruit. I prefer to pick coffee that is a tree type that is not too thick but has only fruit, because it really helps the process of picking faster.

A day my parents and I can reach 4-5 cans, one can equals 10 bamboo. The price of coffee is now quite high, 1 can of raw coffee costs around 140,000-160,000.

We do not process crushed coffee into coffee beans, but sell it raw (logs). Because if it is processed into coffee beans, it needs a long process and adequate tools.

Maybe this is all I can say about my experience picking coffee. Next time I will tell you in more detail about the Gayo Coffee plant. And friends can also visit and be adventurous in picking coffee in Takengon, Central Aceh.
