in Steemit-Garden2 years ago

Greetings to everyone in the Steemit Garden Community. This is the first Edition of a new contest hosted by @strawberrry. It is called the Season Hunt Contest Week #1. Read all about this latest contest launched in the Steemit Garden Community here. Everybody is invited to join.

For this first Week, the hunt will be for:

FLOWERING TREES

I live in the Philippines. It is in Southeast Asia and considered to be a tropical country. That means we only have two seasons - the dry or hot and the rainy or wet. The plants and trees do not change much during these two seasons unlike in the northern hemisphere where there are four seasons characterized by extreme cold and hot and in between them. Flowering trees become seasonal in the northern countries, especially in the spring. In my country, though, flowering trees can be found at anytime of the year. Like this tree.

It is also called the Peacock Flower and many more like the Red Bird of Paradise, Paradise Flower, Flower Fence, Flamboyant Tree, and Pride of Barbados.

Caesalpinia pulcherrima is a species of flowering plant in the pea family Fabaceae, native to the tropics and subtropics of the Americas. It could be native to the West Indies, but its exact origin is unknown due to widespread cultivation. Wikipedia

It is often planted as a shade tree lined up along the side of the streets. They do provide adequate shade on a hot day and also some aesthetic beauty and colors as well.

That's it for this entry. Hope you like it. Keep safe and may peace be with you at all times.
