Bangladesh is our main agricultural country. Jute is a major cash crop of this country. There is a huge demand for jute in the country and abroad. Various products are produced from jute. Two types of jute are cultivated in our village. But this kind of gathering of jute trees has filled the village with more beauty. Here the farmers put their sweat and sweat and work hard to grow all kinds of crops. About 70 percent of people in our area cultivate jute. Jute cultivation does not require much expenditure.

What is jute plant?:

Jute is a monsoon crop. In our country, jute is called golden fiber which is a centuries old tradition of Bengal. However, there are two types of jute plant varieties.

How and when jute plants are awakened:

Jute cutting is the perfect time to cut the jute during the rainy season of Asadha-Shravan month, when the drains, canals and canals are filled with water. Those who grow jute crops in our nearby areas plant jute trees in rivers, canals, canals and water bodies during this monsoon. The jute that is cut from the land is tied as a load and the loads are arranged in a row and floated in full water and pressed with soil on top of it. As if jute plants are submerged under water. Staying like this for 5-6 days makes it easier to remove the fiber from the jute plant when the jute plants are about to rot. We also call this process of jute dressing as "ribbon rating". Jute cultivation is closely related to the environment around us. Jute cultivation is a completely rain-fed crop. Jute crops are not affected by drought or waterlogging for some time or temporary period. Jute fields do not require any irrigation.

How to remove fibers from the jute tree:

When the jute tree rots, remove the pressed soil on top of it, bring one load to the river bank, hold two-three jute plants with one hand and remove the fibers in contact with the other hand. If the fiber is taken, it should be cleaned well in river or canal water and dried in the sun. Dry it in the sun for 2-3 days and tie it.

When jute fiber is dried we can market it. But after removing the fiber of jute, we can dry the jute plant in the sun and use it as fuel. I can earn money by going to the market and selling jute fibers and jute plants as fuel. Jute cultivation does not require much money.

That which is made of jute:

Jute is made into rope, yarn, sacks, cloth, carpets etc. Jute wood is used as fuel and for making fences and paper. Synthetic rayon is made from jute.

Our country's jute has demand, importance and prestige worldwide. Bangladesh ranks second in the world in jute production and Bangladesh ranks first in the world in raw jute export.
