Hello my friends of SIC Community!

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the Steemit Iron Chef competition!

This round I again nearly miss it but I did my best today to make my entry and post before the end of the 4th round.

I just don't want to lose the participation point that we all get when posting at least a valid entry each week and the rest of the points are bonus.(if we come in the top 7)

Before sharing my entry, I would like to thank @progressivechef for organizing such an awesome competition specially for chefs like me and others lovely foodies of Steemit.

I have organized cooking contests in the past and I can tell you...it is not easy task organizing/giving prizes/making the judging etc...

It needs a lot of time and patience - So very well done @progressivechef, good luck to you - I know how much work you must be doing each and everyday to keep the momentum in this long contest.


PUMPKIN PUMPKIN PUMPKIN

So for this pumpkin round, I prepared pumpkins in 3 different ways and served with tandoori marinated chicken and bok choy!


Ingredients

  • Pumpkin
  • Chicken
  • Carrot / Bok Choy
  • Oignon / Olives
  • Mustard seeds
  • Tomato / Orange / Apple
  • Salt / Pepper / Olive oil

Steps of preparation

I started by peeling the pumpkin and cut in different ways for the grilling and sautéing. And all the small pieces that were left, I used for making a puree.

Pumpkin Puree

I added a little grated carrot when making the puree for it to have a nice color!

Once soft, I blended it all till smooth - Set aside.

Sautéed pumpkin with mustard

For this preparation, I used diced pumpkin, onions, olives, thyme and mustard.

Simply sautéed the pumpkin with olive oil and add the onion and thyme - Season with salt and pepper.

When the pumpkin is soft, take off the fire and add the mustard and olives.

Grilled Pumpkin and Tandoori chicken

I took the pieces of pumpkin meant for grilling and simply seasoned with salt, pepper, olive oil and little orange juice. Place on the grill and let cook until tender.

And for the chicken, I marinated with tandoori spices and pan fried until cooked.

I choose a white plate for today's entry!

Started by putting the puree in the middle and placed the grilled pumpkin on the top.

Next I topped the cooked chicken with the sautéed pumpkin and put on the plate...

Then I went free style as usual to complete the plating!

I actually read a lot of posts from the organizer himself and learned a bit how we made his posts interesting! I still have a lot to learn and posts...but I am such a busy man at my work...I hope I can make more postings on the platform...let's see!
