How are you? Hope so everyone would be safe and sound just like me as I am also safe Alhamdulillah....


I am happy today to talk about my flavours and traditions of my country and specifically about my town.

Describe a traditional meal from your town


I am basically from a village but now I live in Lahore which is a beautiful city of Pakistan but my home town is my village so I would like to share traditional meal of my home town and it is sawaiyan.


Sawaiyan are very crispy and they are made up of you suji and maida which are the ingredients of wheat floor. Recipe of my traditional dish is very easy to make and I would also share about it soon.


What are the main ingredients?


Ingredients for making this recipe are very healthy and very little ingredients that are present in every kitchen so there is no need to do something special for making this traditional recipe which is also very yummy.

Do you consider that local gastronomy is well represented in your town? Because?


Yes the local gastronomy is well represented in my town and there is no doubt in it because there are different mini restaurants in my village in which my culture and my tradition about dish sawaiyan is promoted.

Sawaiyan is very favourite of my village people as well as my village is also famous among surrounding cities of my village and from cities different people comes almost everyday to check the taste of this dish in our village and I proud on it.

This local gastronomy is well represented in my town because people of my village wants to spread their traditional flavour and taste with others and wants to tell others that the flavour which our traditions can give us we cannot take that flavours from any other dish.


First you have to take milk in a pot in which you want to cook that dish and you have to take 1.5 glass minimum and two glass maximum of fresh milk

After that you have to add cardamom which in Urdu is called elaichi into milk and you have to take to small cardamom into milk for giving this dish a good flavour


After that you have to cook milk with cardamom for 5 minutes at medium flame and after that you have to add sawaiyan in milk and let it cook for 20 minutes

At last we will add sugar in our dish and if you don't want to add sugar in it then you can also skip it but this dish gives more good flavour with sugar touch

Que interesante bebida tradicional amigo.
Al agregar cardamomo no imagino esa mezcla de sabores,pero de seguro la disfrutan mucho en Pakistán.
Aquí en Steemit si que aprendemos de todo un poco.

Thanks that you like my post but dear this is not a drink which we can drink this is basically a dish that we can eat with a spoon

Cardamom gives good flavour to any dish that's why it is always recommended to use this ingredient in most of the recipes which are deserts or sweet in taste

I am happy that you are learning from the platform and you are happy with it and you like traditional recipe of my town and I would advise you to please make it in your home then you would know that how much it is yummy I wish you success in this engagement challenge
