Daily Menu Delicacies Week No. 26 || Making of Masala Dosa

Masla Dosa

Yesterday I went to my brothers house , there I joined to my sister-in -law to cook "Masla Dosa" which in one of the traditional foods of south India and also favorite dish of many people. Here I am going to give you a tutorial of its recipe "how to make Masala Dosa"

INGRADIENTS

💚 Dosa batter (Gound with soaked rice & Urad dal )
💚 Potato
💚 Onions
💚 Tomatoes
💚 Garlic
💚 Curry leaves
💚 Cumin seeds
💚 Sesame seeds
💚 Water
💚 Cooking oil of your choice
💚 Salt
💚 Red chilli powder
💚 Turmeric powder
💚 Cumin powder
💚 Garam masala
💚 Ghee
💚 Urad Dal
💚 Mung dal

Step1 :

Take two three onions and tomatoes and chop them into small pieces, peel off the garlic and, cut coriander and curry leaves and keep them aside.

Step 2 :

Take 2 potatoes rinse them in water and peel off their skin, chop them into big cubes, transfer them to a vessel, add equal amount of water and bring to boil, once they are cooked, strain out the excess water.

Step 3 :

Then heat the Kadhai and add 10 ml of cooking oil to it and once it heats up add cumin seeds (1/2 table spoon). Then add the chopped garlic to it. Once the garlic turns golden brown add in the chopped onion

Step4 :

Once the onion also turns into a golden pink colour add 1tsp of red chilli powder and salt to your taste. Mix it well and keep it aside to cool. Then take the boiled potatoes, mash them up with your clean hands or a spoon

Step5 :

Let it cook for 2-4 mins till the tomatoes get well cooked. Then mash it a little. Now add the masalas - 1/2tsb turmeric powder, 1/2tsb chilli powder, 1/2tsb cumin powder, 1/2tsb garam masala ans salt to your taste. Mix them well

Step 6 :

Now add in the mashed potatoes, then add a glass of water and bring to boil let it cook for a minute or two till all the water is used up. Keep stirring till then in intervals.

Step 7 :

Now moving on to making the dosa. Take pan and heat it, Once it is heated add the batter using the ladle (1.5 spoon) to the pan and spread it around into a circle by moving the bottom of the ladle in a outward spiral motion along the pan. Then add a spoon of ghee to it and spread it all over the dosa. Once the back side gets cooked flip it over and cook the front side.

Step 8 :

Then transfer it to a plate and spread 1 spoon of the masala paste made earlier, all over the dosa as a thin layer. Then add 2-3 spoons of the potatoes masala made earlier to the dosa and spread it in a thick layer across half side of the dosa

Fold it up over the over the other side and you delicious "Masala Dosa" is ready to be savored
