SEC | S11-W6: The Recipe of the Day; 'Rice and Chicken Stew'
I've been wanting to make a post like this for a while now because this particular dish is a favorite. I usually make it when my brothers and myself hangout but with some other attractions. I thought it would be best however if I share it with you as the season is coming to an end. Thanks in advance for going through this post....
Ingredients
For this delicious meal, I'll be using the various ingredients;
Rice
Beans
Plantains
Pepper
Fried Chickens
Seasoning cubes
Salt
Onions
Vegetable Oil
Water
Some Onions
Plantains
Rice and some beans
I didn't capture all the ingredients, just the essentials.
Seasoning the meat
The first thing I do while preparing this kind of meat is to season the meat. I usually do this to make it have flavour and for the absorption to be the way I want, I soak it for a little while before placing it in the pot.
Seasoning the meat with salt and a cube...
I added some onions to it for the taste to be more firm
After that I added some water and waited for it to soak the meat.
The next step was to put the seasoned meat I had cut into boiling oil.
When the oil had cooked the meat and dried the water, I added pepper and waited for it to mix.
Plantain
I skinned the plantain first and kept it in a bowl to avoid dirt rubbing off of it.
Cutting the plantains
Cutting them in this form is a family favorite and so I did it this way. I also added some salt because some of them were not all ripe.
This is me frying the plantain in small bits...
The Rice
Typically, I was taught to cook the beans first for at least 30 minutes before adding the rice but this particular method of putting them together is something I picked up from my brother. If you add just the right temperature, you would have a balanced meal.
I washed the rice
And put it on fire.

Serving
At this point, there was nothing left to do than eat. Honestly, I would've loved to keep this up but a delicacy calls.
To participate in this contest, I invite @tezzmax, @ezuntimmy, and @giovanni0.
