| The crop seen in this picture is wheat. It is widely cultivated in our village. Wheat is a very important crop of our Pakistan. And bread made from wheat flour is the main ingredient of our diet. Wheat crop In Pakistan, wheat is cultivated on an area of about 9 million hectares, which is about 80% of the total cultivated area of our country. |

| Bread made from wheat flour not only fulfills our nutritional needs, but also semolina and other products are extracted from wheat flour which are used in our daily life. Wheat straw is also one of the favorite foods of animals. Paper and cardboard are also produced from wheat straw. |

| Currently, the average production of wheat per acre in Pakistan is around 28 maunds, which is very low compared to the average production per acre of other countries. Our government is working on this. There is scope for further increase in wheat production per acre in Pakistan. Farmers can be guided by these recommendations to get good wheat production |

- In order to get a good yield from the wheat crop, healthy and clean seeds of newly developed and recommended varieties should be cultivated. These include C518, C591, C228, C217, C250, C271, C273, Maxi Pak, Chenab 70, Barani 70, SA42, Blue Silver, LYP 73. , Sandal, Pari 73, Pothowar, Yekora, SA 75, Punjab 76, WL 711, Sanalika, Pawan, Chenab 79, Indus 79, Bahawalpur 79, Punjab 81, Pak 81, Koh Noor 83, Faisalabad 83, Barani 83, Punjab 85, Faisalabad 85, Chakwal 86, Pasban 90, Rohtas 90, Revolution 91, Farazah 94, Shahkar 95, Punjab 96, MH 97, Kohistan 97, Devoram 97, Eagle 2000, Chenab 2000, Iqbal 2000, AS 2002 , SH2002, Sahar 2006, Shafaq 2006, Lasani 2008, FSD 2008, Ari 2011, Millat 2011, Galaxy 2013, Ajala 2016, Anaj 2017 and Akbar 2019.
- Apart from these varieties, Johar 16, Borlaug 16, Zincol 16, Ghazi 19, Bhakkar Star, Fakhar Bhakkar, Rehbar 21, Nawab 21, Devoram 21, MH 21, Subhani 21, Nishan, Daksh 2021, Sadiq 21, NARC Super and Urooj 2022 are also newly developed varieties of wheat for irrigated areas. Rainfed Agricultural Research Institute Chakwal has also introduced about 12 wheat varieties for rainfed areas of Punjab. These include, Chakwal 86, Rawal 87, Pothohar. 93, Kohsar 95, Chakwal 50, Chakwal 97, GA 2002, Baras 09, Dharabi 11, Ehsan 16, Fateh Jang 16 and Barani.
