Hello fellow Steemians. It’s good to be back in the contest this week. Food is one thing no living thing can survive without. It is any edible substance taken into the body to give us strength, and energy to go about the day’s activities. I’d like to thank @artist1111 for always bringing to s this beautiful contest.
I choose these foods because they are simple to make, and at the same time healthy for the body. Special foods are foods that we eat on special days, but for me, I choose to make every healthy food special to me.
Today, I have three different meals to share with us. All three meals are special, and trust me, they are healthy for the body. The first food is vegetable soup. Almost everyone in this part of my country loves this soup.
Vegetables are good for the body. Beans and plantain are as good because of their health benefits. Lastly, oats are very simple to make, and this gives me joy to know I could still fix something after a hectic day.
When I was much younger, I was told I could have enough blood from just eating fresh vegetable soups.
For this reason, I don’t remember a week passing without having this soup, at least once.
Vegetable soup and garri
So, whenever I’m preparing this kind of food, I take enough time to make it well. It’s special to me because my friends from childhood hated this food for what it did to their stomach.
I was surprised when it didn’t happen to me like it did to them. But then, my mum would tell me that a carefully prepared dish was just the best for the body.
Beans and plantain
I thought I needed to make it a bit solid to eat. But after I had in put in my plate, and ready to eat, I was chewing on it like a rock. After much laughter by those that saw it, I decided to take it up as a challenge.
Today, I’m proud of where I am. I could fix oats with ease, and I enjoy it because a good meal is worth the challenge and stress.
The emotions are joy, satisfaction, and fulfilment. Sometimes, I feel fulfilled to see I can fix and have something I made on my own.
The joy comes from learning to do something, and getting it right.

In conclusion, in as much as we eat to keep hunger away, we must also watch what we eat. Water is life, but food makes it lively.

When we were younger all or parents were doctor and they will always advise us to eat vegetables to gain more blood.
