My country, Nigeria, gained its independence on 1st October 1960. After several struggles by the then elites of the country and failed attempts to achieve this fit, it finally came through on this date as our colonial masters handled. the running of the country back to their owners.
The country's independence was achieved from Great Britain. They were the country's colonial master who handed over the running capacity of the country to its indigene. The country is approximately 64 years since its independence. The country has continued to celebrate this day as it is honored throughout the country.
Firstly, the 1st of October of every year is declared a public holidays. On this day, there are usually presidential, sub-national, and council displays done at their different designated points.
There is a presidential speech of hope made to assure the citizens of their continued unity and a better country ahead.
Why do you think independence is compulsory for a nation or country? |
---|
The sovereignty of a country is important as no one country wants to be in slavery. The bottom line here is that if you're not independent, you are dependent which makes you a subject to another.
Some limitations come with not being independent or sovereign as a country. Complete resource control, growth, and all necessary controls are some of the importance of independence.
This cannot be alternated for any privilege whatsoever. Independence of a country is key to the everyday achievement and growth of a country.
