Which is the strongest antioxidant in the body?

Antioxidants are those compounds that inhibit our cells from being damaged by oxidative stress. Oxidative stress occurs as a result of damage to cells from free radicals, also known as reactive oxygen species.

But what really are those free radicals? They are such small species that are, in fact, naturally produced by us humans within our bodies. Though, if in excessive form, it becomes harmful. That is why it is very important that we have ample amounts of these antioxidants because they neutralize those free radicals.

Now I am going to tell you about one of the most powerful antioxidants produced by our body. Glutathione is considered to be the most potent antioxidant. Glutathione is a tripeptide; it is composed of three amino acids: cysteine, glutamate, and glycine.

It is an antioxidant in all body cells with some powerful properties. As such, glutathione is highly dubbed by scientists as the "master antioxidant" because not only can it scavenge directly for free radicals, but glutathione also has the capability to regenerate other antioxidants, like vitamins C and E, which play a very crucial role as well. This then triggers a chain reaction to step up cellular antioxidant defenses.

Today, the tower hosts millions of tourists in a year and forms a giant part of the tourism sector in France.
