I live on a small island surrounded by the Indian ocean. There are many beautiful destinations that have high tourist attractions. Even If I have visited once, there are still a few places that I feel like exploring and experiencing again. Every time I visit, I get a whole new experience. It's never the same under this sky, The beauty you witness today is different tomorrow. I always like to visit up-country destinations. Maybe I love the climate and the surrounding very much. It's a pleasant view to my eyes and acts like therapy to my mind. My favorite place to visit is "Nuwara Eliya"

Nuwara Eliya is located in the central province. It is one of the most tourists attracting destinations in Sri Lanka. There are many places to visit in Nuwara Eliya. To cover all places and spend your time freely you will need at least a week.
Nuwara Eliya is also known by the name of "little England". It is a countryside city located on tea hills. There are beautiful waterfalls running down from the hilly mountains which enhance the beauty of Nuwara Eliya.

Why do you like it? The main feature that makes it more attractive to you??

Nuwara Eliya is special to me, It is a place where elegance meets the true beauty of nature. I have always loved the foggy climate and the lush green surroundings. Nuwara Eliya is completely different compared with other places in Sri Lanka. The climate in Nuwara Eliya is the main feature, It is never cold in any other place other than in hill country areas. This destination is full of surprises. Each time I visit, it's never the same. It's a great place to spend time with your family and friends to relieve stress and get some fresh air in an open space. The main feature which makes it more attractive to me is the misty mountains and eye-pleasing views.

Every time I visit I wish that I have more time to walk around the city. The winter market is one of my favorite places to visit when I go to Nuwara Eliya. Even though it's not so cold anywhere else in Sri Lanka I don't miss buying something from the market.

Not just the views, You can also enjoy freshly plucked fruits and vegetables. I could clearly taste the difference between the veggies we have daily and the freshly plucked ones. It tastes so good! I even bought some veggies and fruits back home.

Yes, I have visited recently. Normally Nuwara Eliya is very lively during the winter season. People start visiting by mid-November till the end of January. We too visited in December to celebrate Christmas in Nuwara Eliya. That is the best time to enjoy, It was magical. There were many festivals and carnivals to entertain people that visit during the season. We enjoyed it a lot. The weather was freezing cold but that was a whole new experience for me after many years.

What are the special features of that place?

• The mesmerizing beauty of Nuwara Eliya is very eye catchy, The town is a beautiful place to walk around and explore. especially if you like sightseeing its the best place to enjoy leisurely.

• The Most famous Gregory lake is a great place to spend time with family and loved ones. there are many things to do such as horse riding, Paddle boat rides, Speed boat rides, and Jet skiing in Gregory lake.

• Can visit tea factories and enjoy a hot cup of Ceylon tea. I had the opportunity to visit the Labookale tea factory and watch the process of tea manufacturing. It was great to have a nice aromatic tea enjoying the view of the tea estate.

• Visiting Jagro farms was another great opportunity, It's the first time in my life I got to witness how strawberry cultivation is done. It was great to have freshly plucked strawberries served with a yummy dessert.

• Carnivals and festivals are organized to entertain people who visit during the season. We too joined and enjoyed the night.

• Great accommodation facilities available. You can either book a comfortable hotel of your choice or get an amazing bungalow booked to enjoy the scenic views of Nuwara Eliya.
  

Share the local cuisine of that place.

Local cuisine is just normal just as we can find in Colombo. All the places that we tried are so good and clean. The food was delicious I liked it a lot.

Well, talking about the expenses, It was a bit high-budgeted visit. We were a gang of seventeen, We tried our best to accommodate all in one place. Rather than traveling in separate vehicles, we decided to take one bus for traveling. Therefore the cost per person was calculated as:

Traveling charges: 6200 LKR

Hotel charges for two nights: 6500 LKR

Food and beverages: 3000 LKR

I enjoyed every bit of our visit to Nuwara Eliya. It is a place where I like to travel again and again. I will not get fed up with the cold climate any day. The only thing that went wrong was the booking of hotel rooms for the first night. It was not clean at all, we had the longest terrible night. Next time when we visit it is important to check reviews and pick the right hotel to enjoy your stay in Nuwara Eliya. Other than that it was a great experience. It was fun and I enjoyed the place very well, we were able to make memories with our loved ones. Nuwara Eliya will be my favorite place to visit again and again.
