Who is a parent?

A parent is simply an individual who fathers or mothers a person or group of persons.
Biological parents are not the only type of parents a person could have. As we may all know, there're adopted ones.
Infact, a person that has played a vital role in determining what and who an individual has grown to become should be considered as his or her parent.
There are many aspects in which people are privileged to have persons they call parents. A few to be mentioned are;

• Biologically
• Spiritually
• Academically
• Politically , etc.
  I bet you don't have parents in all aspects. Do you..?😏😏

How did your parents shape your personality?

My parents have been able to shape my personality in a positive way. And I'll list out various outstanding outcomes of their efforts in making me a better person that I am today.

★Choice of friends
My parents taught me not to allow people choose me as their friend. But I should be the one to choose who I wish to call my friends.
This has helped me a lot. It's saved me from allowing people with negative mindset to get attached to me.
Most of the times , the people I meet in different places would say to me "I like they way you talk , interact with people behave, etc. I would love to be your friend." And I'm like "okay. But
I'll tell you plain. I don't let people choose me as a friend. I'll let you know if you're good to go."
This was to make me not get associated with bad company.

★Lifestyle
Most of the things I do. Like; what I wear, eat , drink, do in my free time,etc. How I interact with people , my religious life. Infact, everything I do in public and some that I do in private are as a result of the laid down principles and standards my parents set for me.
And by following those standards ,I've been able to make them proud of who they've raised.

★Attitude towards learning
When you teach a child that learning does no only work when you flog him or her often, it's make the child eager to learn whenever you want him or her to do so.
That fear of being flogged is not there.
My parents taught me to read my books at ease.
They played with me while reading. Thereafter, the ask questions out of the books we read together and promise to get me gifts if I answered correctly. Then if I don't. They don't get the gifts.
And they also drafted reading timetables for me and till today I still read based on the timetables I draft for myself.

Finally, the way I think and react to things have really been influenced by my parents .The way I care for myself and others around me. My parents I should say, are my greatest role models. Because , I am almost a replica of them.😊😊👌

What role do your parent play in your overall well-being ?

1) They provide physical activities encouragement for me
2) They volunteer to help in challenging times.
3) They encourage me in my self development activities.
4) They model mental well-being.
5) Promotion of healthy coping skills to deal with trail times and anxiety.
6) Provisions of educational funds.
7) Ensuring that I get enough rest and food as well.😊👌🤣

How do your parents encourage your dreams and aspirations?

Right from when I was a kid, I've always had this mindset of studying all Art , Science and Engineering courses at the same time. Because to me, I fancy all. This mindset of not just being to this world to fulfill one purpose is always in my head. I want to be this, I want to be that... ah🤣. Although my parents believe that it's almost impossible to accomplish all of that, they still give me the necessary support I need in pursuing those dreams.
For example, before I gained admission into the University, they enrolled me in an Electronics repairs and assembly enterprise. So I could gain more knowledge of what I was about to study in the University. That really helped me.So, I'll say they've and are still playing a vital role in encouraging my dreams and aspirations.

Share and experience that highlighted your parents sacrifices for you

I remember when I was sitting for WASSE( West African Senior Secondary School Examinations). Every night when I wake up to read, at least either my mom or my dad would be awake with me. They always gave me this encouragement to read. They didn't say "oh its his exams, let him read alone. After all ,I read alone in my time."They knew thier baby boy really had to pass that examination. And I passed very well.

In conclusion, I'll urge parents to keep an eye on their children, give them the necessary support and encouragement they need in life and watch their children grow to become Great and outstanding personalities.
Also, children should not despise the good advice given to them by their parents and elderly ones. So that they will become respected people in the society
