Hello guys, my name is Urooj and I am from Pakistan, and today I am participating in the Steemit Engagement Challenge season 7 week 1, and the contest topic is your favourite festival.

Many festivals are celebrated in our religion of Islam, including two Eids, Ramadan, Muharram, and Eid-Milad un-Nabi. But my favourite festival is Eid ul-Fitr, which is celebrated after Ramadan. Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated on the 1st of Shawwal. Before Eid ul-Fitr, there is a whole month of Ramadan. Muslims fast and worship Allah.

This Eid was celebrated because of the joy of Ramadan fasts. Eid al-Fitr is regarded as a time to celebrate, with Muslims gathering their friends and family to show gratitude toward God following the previous month of reflection. The holiday serves as a great reminder for Muslims to be grateful for what they have and to share with those who may be less fortunate.

Before this Eid, we get very excited and eagerly wait for it. In preparation for this Eid, we buy our new clothes, shoes, pairs, etc. Then we wait until the 29th to see whether the moon will be visible or not. Because sometimes there are 29 fasts and sometimes there are 30 fasts, sometimes the moon is visible on the 29th and sometimes it is fast. But the 29th Eid has a different joy.

The night when the moon is visible is called Chand Raat, and there is a lot of rush in the markets. People apply henna and buy bangles. My father brings cold drinks and fruit on Eid, and my mother makes some sweet dishes on Eid; this Eid is also called Sweet Eid.

On the day of Eid, Eid prayers are offered in the mosque, and on this day, fitrana is given to the poor. We give Zakat to needy people. This Eid teaches us how poor people live without eating.I wear new clothes, and I meet my elders. I say the Eid prayer and take the Eidi from my elders. We have a lot of fun learning about Eid from our elders.

Relatives go to each other's houses to celebrate Eid and send some sweets. And all the cousins go out and have fun together. This festival of Eid lasts for three days, and the government gives us three holidays. Of all the Muslim festivals, I like Eid al-Fitr the most because it is a gift of fasting from Allah.

Big thanks to the organizer suboohi for organizing this beautiful contest. I am happy to invite @malikusman1, @fabiha to participate in this contest.

Wow, @uroojal, your post on Eid ul-Fitr was truly mesmerizing! Reading about the traditions and celebrations of this special festival gave me a glimpse into the rich culture and faith of Islam. The anticipation and excitement leading up to Eid, from the fasting of Ramadan to the sighting of the moon on Chand Raat, really captured the spirit of the holiday. It's clear that Eid ul-Fitr is a time for coming together with loved ones, expressing gratitude to God, and spreading joy and generosity to those in need. Your writing was so vivid and evocative that I felt like I was right there with you, celebrating Eid and enjoying the sweet treats and fun times with your family and friends. Thank you for sharing this beautiful celebration with us, and for inviting me to participate in the contest. You have truly inspired me with your words and experiences.

Well done, your celebration is quite similar as in Morocco. I like the way Muslims show respect to old people too during these events. And also we don't ignore kids during these events, we celebrate also when someone's child first time fast during Ramadan... this is awesome

Wish you a good luck in this contest
