Good day erudite steemians! This is another amazing contest brought up by Steem For Pakistan Community. A comparison between power gotten from fame and that gotten from the possession of money. Two very related subjects.
Talking about money and fame, does ones fame generate a wider influence for them than the money they possess? Between money and fame, is there a tendency for one to supersede another or are they tightly related? What is more beneficial to possess, money or fame?
On this piece, we will unravel the secrets of these two strong subjects and decipher the relevance of one over another. We would also try to understand the strong relationship they share and hopefully make useful deductions.
What do you mean by power or how do you define it? |

Before we delve into the discussion of money or fame power, it is best we understand what exactly power means.
Power has diverse meanings, a physicist will define power as work all over time, that is the rate at which work is done but in this context we will be viewing power as the influence or ability to control or utter any situation producing the desired effect.
It can also be defined as the authority possessed by any person making others subject to their will. For instance, a captain of the army has power over his subordinates.
After understanding what power is, it's only right to ponder now on money power and fame power. Money power is the influence possessed by a persons owing to their wealth while fame power on the other hand is due to their popularity and reputation.

Placing money power and fame power as the only options in a tick one question is rather constraining.
These are two fundamentals that any success pioneer would aim for. Considering that they both tend to complement each other in various aspects. In the sense that, the possession of money can generate fame and also the right use of fame can equally produce money.
Nevertheless, despite the fact that they complete eachother so perfectly, I would still go with money power. There is a common saying that money can buy anything. Though I don't exactly subscribe to it but in this context it is a very good example to express the vitality of money in our society.
Currently in Nigeria, the possession of money is almost infallible and with money fame is a certainty depending on your choice but fame does not exactly guarantee money besides you can be famous from being a murderer or being a strict professor. Those does not guarantee money.
Now, speaking on the power gotten from these two, money power speaks louder. An individual in possession of the right amount of money can reserve a whole hotel for his personal use, he just needs to have enough cash to sort the bills but fame can't do that.
The hotel won't deposit your fame into their accounts and your popularity won't cover the expenses. They are running a business so definitely such an offer will be abruptly turned down. Certainly fame can take you places but money has a greater potential to get you to many heights.
To emphasize on this more, very popular and well known public figures are still performing or rather working for their money since fame alone is not enough to maintain their standards of living.

So when it comes to either fame or money power, the cons are certain and the pros are as well certain.
Speaking on money, it is insatiable. The more you have, the more you tend to desire. One can never have enough money because with money your quality of living improves hence your expenses and to keep up more money is needed but also with the right and contented use of money life can be a bliss.
For fame, it opens doors for wealth and influence but being too popular can restrict your freedom of movement as you can't freely associate with the common people without drawing unnecessary attention to yourself. Some celebrities even get assaulted in public.
Nevertheless, everything has its advantages and disadvantages so you decide on what works for you and go for it.

When it comes to power from money and fame, there is no certain right path. The first thing is to understand yourself and your priorities. Greed, corruption and arrogance are options in both money and fame so it is hard to paint one white and another black.
Yet again, it will still depend on you and how persistent and unbending you are with your moral standards. What are your objectives for aiming at either of the two? Do you trust yourself enough?
Though all things have advantages and disadvantages, it would be more terrible to handle money or fame power with an immature mindset.
So, all there is to advise is work on yourself, just keep working on yourself. That is my advice.

I'm glad you shared that you love the money power stressing that even though you are famous, your fame is not what hotels would put in their bank accounts go expenses, stressing that you must pay your bills that's why money is important. Power refers to a person's ability to control others, so is power if control skills exist. Out of the two strengths you choose the money strength because you think you can gain fame with money. Every thing has its pros and cons, we just have to take our needs positively. Wish you success.
