RE: SLS33-From my kitchen to your plate week#2 My city my taste (Rice pudding).
The entire process of making the traditional Arroz con leche (rice milk dessert) from the state of Miranda in Venezuela is quite simple and beautifully illustrated. Although cardamom, cinnamon or rum are used in many places, the way in which the basic regional flavor is retained with very simple ingredients—milk, sugar and cloves—is quite commendable. Especially from the step-by-step description of each part, from boiling the milk to cooling it in the refrigerator and serving it, I realized how deeply the emotions and culture of the people of your region are associated with this dish. I think the real beauty of a region's traditional dish lies in its readily available ingredients and homemade flavour. The attempt to retain the simple recipe taught by ancestors without using too many ingredients makes its cultural importance clearer. The sweet taste of the dish and the aroma of cloves are really enough to remind us of the tradition and old memories of a region. Best wishes to you in this contest. 😊
