Introduction

Today is another day of celebration in the Eboyomi’s family. My nephew is celebrating his 9 years old birthday. He has been waiting for this day for a long time now. He’s the last born among my sister’s children. Just recently his mum celebrated her birthday and today happens to be his own day.

Well, today started off with the entire family waking up early this morning to sing a birthday song for him before preparing him for school. Waking this kids up every morning isn’t funny at all. We had to sprinkle water on his face because he was delaying few of us that was ready for work already. With his sleepy eyes, immediately we started the birthday song, the sleep left and he was very excited and was looking for his cake…. Lol.

I left them to work. Work was boring as usual and it rained heavily. Since I didn’t have much to do, I didn’t even know when I fell asleep. I closed from work getting transportation wasn’t easy. The price of transportation It’s now so expensive, I’ve to walk several miles to get to the highway to reduce my transportation costs. Well I can’t blame the transporters because in less than a year fuel has moved from 250 to 850 naira.

As a result of the increment in fuel, the inflation in the country is over the roof. People are trying to meet up by increasing the price of their commodity goods. My only concern now is that as things are going so high, our salaries remains stagnant like stagnant water.

Well, I got home in time to meet my nephew at home. His parents were preparing him to take him out, so I just tagged along rather than staying at home since there was no light. I decided to take a picture of the birthday boy and his siblings.

We got there and the guy really had much fun at the shopping mall. Lots of games to keep him occupied. While we left him with his siblings to go get the cake for him because that’s the only thing he cares about…. Cutting a cake.

We returned home, after singing another happy birthday song again. We were all salivating to take a piece of the cake. Did a little prayer and devoured the cake. Well, that’s how my day went today.
