"One Picture And One Story Week #50".
There was a young handsome man named Simon, who lived in a small, village. Simon was known for his generosity, always willing to help other people and he was well-loved by everyone who knew him both in his village and outside of his village. But beneath his gentle smile, Simon carried a deep sorrow within him.
Years ago, when Simon was just a child, he had a pretty younger sister named Lydia. She was the of his life and source of his joy, always cheerful and full of fields near their home, imagining grand adventures and promising to always be there for each other.
On one cool evening, when Simon was ten and Lydia was eight, they decided to explore the nearest forest in the village. They had been told never to go too far, but out of curiosity got the better of them. As the sun began to set, they realized they were lost. Panic set in as they tried to find their way back home, but the forest was dense, and the paths they took were so confusing to them.
Hours passed, and the night got darker and colder. Daniel held Lydia close, trying to keep her warm and calm, but she was scared. Eventually, they both heard voices calling their names searchers from the village who had come looking for them. They both ran towards the direction of the voices.
But in the darkness, Lydia tripped and fell into a shallow hole, closer to a fast-moving river. Simon screamed for help and tried to grab her by the hand, but the current was too strong. By the time the searchers reached them Lydia was gone, swept away by the river which Simon couldn't hold it than to cry.
Years Simon blamed himself for what happened to Lydia. He withdrew from others carrying the weight of his sister Lydia's loss in silence. He couldn't forgive himself for not being able to save her. Though time passed and the pain became less sharp, the sorrow never left Simon.
Simon grew up, and eventually,.he became a schoolteacher in his village. Simon dedicated himself to his students, always encouraging them to cherish their loved ones and to be careful in their adventures. Simon never spoke of Lydia to anyone but kept remembering the death of Lydia every. Simon loved to spend his days filled with love and respect from his village people but the memory of his late sister Lydia kept running in his heart.
