The Seed of Hope

In a small village called Agbanyon, there lived a poor farmer named Iyke. His life had always been up and down, from one struggle to another. The soil that he wanted to farm got dry, and for over a year rain and stopped talking on his farmland.

Iyke worked tirelessly on his small farmland nurturing every plan as if it were his child because he didn't want to go to bed hungry or begging for money. Despite how hard Iyke was working he barely made enough farm products or money to feed his family. He had a wife, named Felicia, and a young son, named Pius. They both lived in a modest hut, house.

Even though Iyke and his family lived in a modest hut, they enjoyed every moment of their time compared to those who were staying in a brick house in the village of Agbanyon. Iyke and his family find joy in everything they do, but they are worried about a bad harvest, as they don't have enough food to eat.

In August the village suffered a severe drought when the biggest river in the village dried up, and all the wells in the village got Emory, and the fields cracked under the scorching sun. Many crops withered away and the green crop field turned yellow and lifeless. The village that is next to Agbanyon village had little water kegs, and their hope faded away day by day.

One morning, as Iyke sat by the fireside which is a lovely family, he noticed something strange that happened. Pius who had been playing in the field, came running back with a small, peculiar shining seed in his hand. Pius told his parents that he found the seed buried in dry soil, near the end of their farmland.

Curious and how desperate, Iyke was he decided to plant the seed, despite the drought that is still in their land. He dug a small dip hole in the center of his farmland placed the seed inside the hole gently and covered it with dry earth (sand). Iyke then uses the last water they have to water the seed, praying for a miracle to happen. To be continued.....
