For the fourth week, another interesting contest from you titled What Is Your Favorite Place To Visit? by @hive-180106.

Traveling and visiting places is very important for every individual both young and old. Apart from the excitement it could produce, we should equally know that it has some health benefits attached to it when we see lots of different beautiful places.

Visit places are usually built for relaxation, comfort, and entertainment, which could see visitors from all over the globe coming to check out how good and entertaining a particular place is. Through our various entries, we could all have a glimpse of a particular place to visit if we get the opportunity to visit other countries.

Follow this article, as I would be sharing my favorite visiting place here in my area.

When I first saw this contest, I gave a warm smile, because an amazing destination in my area has already crossed my mind. I then decided that my friend and I would go there the next day.

The name of my favorite visit destination is referred to as the OXBOW LAKE PAVILION of YENAGOA. A beautiful resort with a serene environment, located at Yenagoa the capital city of Bayelsa state, Nigeria. A destination that is blessed with the peace and beauty of nature, where visitors troop in every day to picnic, drink, eat and be happy. It's more like a relaxation and recreation spot for anybody who wants to enjoy him/herself in that area.

It derived its name from its U-shape nature when viewed aerially. Because I could remember during my geography classes back then in college, I was made to understand that an Oxbow lake is a little portion of a water channel that's uniquely bent or curved into a U-shape.

Located at the bank of the Swali Waterside, in and around Oxbow lake Yenagoa is filled with lovely foods and drinks like Assorted meat, Barbecue, Soya Milks, Snacks, as well as traditional delicacies like Ishiewu, Goat Meat pepper soup, Nkwobi, Egusi soup and many more which in most cases leaves visitors with no choice but to come back there next time.

A 25-30km ride from the entrance of the state capital's gate, The Yenagoa Oxbow lake is situated on the outskirt of Yenagoa town, very close to the popular Swali marketplace.

As we drove toward the entrance gate of Oxbow lake, we could see lots of drink bars and restaurants around this location, it was really a great and lovely sight to behold.

First thing first, when we got into the entrance gate, the security men told us to pay for tickets before getting access to the facilities of the resort. So we paid 1,000 nairas (≈10.67 steem) before we were given access to the facilities.

The first public facility we saw was the Snooker board, where two different individuals would challenge themselves in the game of snooker. We were told that the price for playing the game of snooker was ₦200 per round.

During the cause of playing the snooker game, we ordered a coconut drink called Exotic which was at ₦600 in price.

Another fun-filled activity I witnessed was the horse riding service🐎, where visitors get the chance to enter and ride on horses after paying the sum of ₦500. We didn't do the horse riding because we didn't have enough money for that, but it was fun to see how happy everyone was🥰

One of the most interesting and adventurous services offered here is the boat riding movement⛵ where interested individuals would be allowed to enter and ride on fancy boats in the lake. This service equally cost ₦500 for each person, as you would be given a life jacket for your safety.

Aside from the beautiful, peaceful, and calm nature of the lakeside, they are still very unique and interesting features of this destination.
To the local residents of this area, Oxbow Lake Yenagoa is the home of allurement as it was where the first seaplane landed in Bayelsa state, Nigeria.

The citizens of this area believe that this destination is unique and as such, they made and designed a Concrete Sea Helicopter behind the Boat club building, which visitors and tourists could see and admire.

The reason why I love going to this destination rather than any other in my area is that this destination provides Water-based Recreation where visitors can safely and comfortably engage in exciting water activities.

If I would give a rating to this destination, it will be a 4/5, because I really enjoyed my time there with nice foods, drinks, and recreational activities. Some buildings are still under construction inside the Oxbow lake pavilion, and I believe after its completion this destination would make more sense.

To all fun lovers and traveling steemians, Oxbow lake pavilion is a place to visit in Yenagoa, Nigeria. I assure you that you would find something that would interest you in this area when you visit.
