Raugyat the herdswoman. Raugyat does not look like a Fulani woman but she is a herdswoman. She does not desire to do this but she finds herself doing it, her life was just a doom and she can never recall what brought her to be a herdswoman.
Raugyat was kidnapped and taken to a very far distant land of Fulanis. Mallam Shaibu wanted to marry but he doesn't want to marry only Fulani woman so he went as far as Igbo land to pick a lady by force, he kidnapped her and brought her to the Fulani land telling everyone that she is legally married to him.
Unknown to them, Raugyat was kidnapped and then injected to forget all her memories. Fortunately, Raugyat is not able to give him children and that made Mallam Shaibu very angry, he beats her up to stupor and then maltreats her too. Her co-wife Zainab also maltreats Raugyat and not allowing her to touch her kitchen utensils meanwhile, Raugyat just found herself around them with nothing except the clothes she was wearing when kidnapped.
She goes out with the cows, making sure they graze and then goes back home in the evening, on a faithful day after 5 years, she took the cattle to a very far bush not knowing she was heading to the main road, at the process of crossing the road, a car hit her and she fell, the car driver picked her home and after some months, she regained her memory and began to mention names.
The young car driver followed up and made sure she was taken to her land after her complete healing, the young man took her to her land as she was mentioning her village name and family members. After which, the young man married her and took her to be his wife, she couldn't recall her moments in the Fulani land, she could tell them that her name is Chioma. Finally, she came back to her normal life as an Igbo girl.
