Assalamualaikum all of my friends. How are you all? I hope you are all well. I'm fine too. I am Mohammad Kamran Hossain. Today I am going to participate in "Steem For Pakistan" community in the new Engagement Challenge of week 5 and the topic of today's Engagement Challenge is "Write A Short Story". I am really happy today to get a chance to write some memorable stories about myself for which I thank all the fans of this community. However, now I am presenting to you one of my memorable incidents.

Plan a memorable educational trip

The time was 2013 when I was just a student of 8th standard and our educational institution was called Shiromani Secondary School. Our school days were full of good and bad experiences. When we were in 8th standard, one day we came to know that the school would take students of 8th and 10th standard to Santiniketan for an educational tour. All our hearts danced with joy. We have never gone on an educational tour from school before. Our educational tour there was for three days. Naturally we were very excited about the visit.

Trip Preparation

Immediately after the announcement of the educational tour, the students who wish to go on the tour have to register their names with the respective class teachers. Then one day the class teachers sat in a meeting with the parents of all the willing students. In that meeting the teachers informed the parents about our complete travel plan along with various information related to accommodation and transportation. Parents were also asked to inform if any student has any special physical problem. A date after two weeks was fixed for our departure for Santiniketan. Then the days before departure passed in a blink of an eye planning how to spend with friends in Santiniketan. Finally we packed our bags and arrived at the school premises by seven in the morning on that respective day.

Traveling in groups

A total of 112 students in two classes enrolled themselves to go to Santiniketan. A total of three buses were arranged for 15 teachers to accompany us. On the respective day, we boarded the bus at half past eight in the morning and left for our destination Santiniketan.
Words can't describe the strange feeling of having all the friends in the bus sharing stories together. Passing the dense forest on either side of the highway, our bus sped towards Santiniketan. Finally we reached Santiniketan around 4 pm.
It was decided to go to the hotel and rest that day. That afternoon, after leaving the luggage at the hotel, all the friends along with the teachers went out for a while on the bank of an unknown river nearby. Then we returned to the hotel by 9 pm and after having dinner we quickly fell asleep.

Time spent with fellow teachers

After two days of arrival I traveled to many places with friends and teachers. Visva Bharati University in Santiniketan, open classroom under the tree, Rabindra Museum, Rabindranath's house etc. left a deep impression on my mind. On the same day at noon, after visiting Visva Bharati University and having lunch, we came to see the market on the banks of Kopai river.
There I saw how many kinds of things were being sold, and on the other side there was baul singing; And after a while I saw the deep red sun setting in the western sky. It cannot be interpreted as a strange and beautiful scene. The next day we took our own bus to see the Kankalitala temple and the ten mile forest.
There I saw the river Ajay flowing by the side of the temple. Although its stream has become very narrow, its existence is still present. I learned from the teachers that this Kankalitala is one of the 51 satipeeths of India. That afternoon, after the tour, we all left for home by bus.

Obstacles on the way back

The way back from such a memorable trip will also be memorable to us. When we boarded the bus to return in the afternoon, a few hours later, one of the three buses suddenly broke down in the middle of the highway. We all sat inside the bus.
The teachers got down from the bus and started looking at the situation. Informed the nearest police station. After some time a policeman came from there to monitor the situation and informed the motor mechanics. As the evening was already falling, we all got down from the bus along with the teachers and appeared in a neighboring village.
I came to know from the teachers that Santal people live in this village. I saw that the way of life of these people is completely different from ours. The people of that small village treated us with utmost hospitality. It was almost night there.
We had dinner in that village thanks to the villagers. Already the news came that our broken down bus has been fixed. Finally we all said goodbye to the small village and boarded the bus. The bus left us around 10:30 pm. By now all the parents were informed about our delay in return. The next morning at 6:30 we returned to the school premises.

Conclusion

This is one of the most memorable events of my school life till date. The impression that the experience of that educational tour created in my mind was, in a word, unparalleled. Never in my life have I witnessed such a beautiful and fulfilling experience. Maybe I will have many more memorable experiences in the rest of my school life. But this experience of school to education tour will be remembered forever in the memory of the mind.
