What is the main purpose of fasting in Ramadan?

Masha Allah this is a very important question. The main purpose of fasting in Ramadan is to gain the pleasure of Allah and attain taqwa (piousness). Our holy religious book, the Holy Qur'an says, O believers, fasting is enjoined upon you as it was enjoined upon those before you so that you may attain piety.

Main objectives of fasting

  • Through fasting man learns to control his nafs and bad habits.

  • To deepen the relationship with Allah through worship.

  • To guide life on the holy path through the fear of God.

  • Learning patience through hunger and thirst and self-control in difficult situations.

  • To feel the suffering of poor and hungry people and help them by fasting.

  • Fasting is also beneficial for health as it detoxifies the body and calms the mind.

How does fasting benefit a person spiritually and physically?

Fasting benefits a person both spiritually and physically. Alhamdulillah I keep all the fasts since my childhood. So there may be some changes in my body that I may notice. As for the spiritual benefits,

Increases Self-Control and PatiencePatience is learned by enduring hunger and thirst.
Increases fear and obedience to AllahDevelops a mindset of staying away from sin.
The suffering of the poor and the downtrodden can be feltresulting in increased benevolence and humanity.
Increases peace of mind and concentrationfocus on worship increases and spiritual peace is felt.

Physical Benefits There are many physical benefits to our fasting during fasting. Although we cannot perceive these benefits face to face, slowly these benefits can be noticed in our body. As shown below are some.

Detoxification of the bodyFasting removes toxins from the body.
Improves DigestionDigestion improves as the stomach rests.
Helps in weight controlreducing the amount of food intake keeps the body weight under control.
Regulates blood pressure and cholesterolgood for the heart and reduces the risk of diabetes.
Tell us about your favorite Sahoor and Iftar Recipes. What are their benefits?

I like eating Sehri very much. Sehri is the main source of energy for fasting during the day. If I could afford to eat Sehri every day, I would eat Sehri every day. Basically Sehri we eat food at the last night so that we don't eat all day. Eating food late at night is very beneficial for us. There are many Muslims among us who do not fast but eat properly at Sehri at night. It is eaten as a hobby by many people. But I think seheri is very beneficial for us and it is very pleasant food. It is mentioned to take advantage of it.

Prevents DehydrationAdequate water and hydrating foods keep the body fresh throughout the day.
Controls excessive appetiteFoods rich in protein and fiber reduce the feeling of hunger.
Maintains body performanceHealthy fats and carbohydrates maintain brain and body performance.

Iftar rejuvenates the body and restores energy after a long period of fasting. Iftar is the holiest meal for every Muslim. After fasting all day we all take food during Maghrib Azan. It is a pleasant meal after our long day of waiting. It is very beneficial for us because we eat different varieties of items in Iftari. Its more benefits are mentioned below.

Restores energyDates and fruits give quick energy.
Relieves DehydrationSorbet, Banana, Lemon, Watermelon etc fills the water deficit in the body.
Aids in digestionLight and healthy food reduces stress on the stomach.
Reduces the tendency to overeatafter having a balanced Iftar there is no need to overeat.
Tell us about the things which we should do or should not do while fasting.

The holy month of Ramadan is a very holy month for us. In this month we should follow many things and avoid many things. So while fasting in Ramadan we should do some things and avoid some things. These are precisely mentioned below.

What should be done :- Fasting should be done for the pleasure of Allah. Eating Sehri on the last night is Sunnah and has blessings. It is Sunnah to break iftar without delay after sunset. Recitation of the Qur'an is one of the most important acts of Ramadan. Praying and supplicating, performing Nafal (Tarabeeh, Tahajjud) along with obligatory prayers. Help the poor and give charity. Avoiding lies, slander, anger, bad words etc.

which should not be done :- Lying and slander destroy the blessings of fasting. One should not get angry and quarrel, the fasting person should be patient. Do not overeat in Iftar and Sehri. Time should not be wasted. One should not waste time in playing games, idle stories or doing bad things. Do not speak dirty words or do bad things. Donate to the poor without wasting food at Iftar. Fasting is not only fasting but also a month of increasing worship of Allah.

Finally, I want to say that I have been waiting for this month of Ramadan for a year. Because Ramadan is my most favorite month. In this month of Ramadan we have the opportunity to have all our sins forgiven. Ramadan is not only a month of fasting but also a month of self-purification. So increasing good deeds and refraining from bad deeds will fulfill the real purpose of fasting. May Allah grant us taufiq to do these things.

So I am Inviting my lovely Steemian friends @waterjoe, @selina1 & @dexsyluz to Participate in this Competition.
Thank You So Much For Reading My Blog, god bless you 🥰
