Green Donna is a new vegan food brand in Sofia, Bulgaria, open for about seven months. They sell various vegan items, like tofu, cashew-tofu mix, pumpkin seed cheese (my favorite), cashew yogurt, cottage cheese from pumpkin seeds and cashews, raisins with cinnamon and cashew milk, strawberry jam with cashew milk, and a traditional Bulgarian food named "banitsa" with cottage cheese, flaxseeds, chia seeds, and cashew yogurt. Since discovering Green Donna, I've been enjoying her products regularly.

The brainchild behind this brand is a lady who turned to veganism due to serious health issues. Initially, she prepared these products for her own consumption, but after sharing them with friends who loved them, she gained the confidence to produce them for a wider audience. Currently, you can find her products at various farmer's markets in Sofia, as well as in the balevbiomarket.com organic store and the Ebag.bg online shop. The owner of Green Donna personally mans her stall at the farmer's markets and is always more than willing to address any questions with patience and thoroughness. High-quality vegan food is known for its health benefits, and I can confidently assert that her products not only deliver on the nutritional front but also delight the taste buds.

The cashew milk, in particular, is divine, with its creamy consistency closely resembling both the taste and appearance of regular milk. The pumpkin seed cheese, subtly enhanced with extra virgin olive oil and a unique Bulgarian spice called "samardala," is a culinary revelation. I find its adaptability impressive – it can be prepared in the oven or cooked on the stovetop. As for dessert, the raisins with cinnamon and cashew milk are a delightful treat. What's particularly wonderful is that they don't contain any added sugar, their natural sweetness originates solely from the raisins.. As for their tofu, it's a revelation – skillfully seasoned with the same combination of extra virgin olive oil and "samardala," it elevates tofu to a whole new level. Most of us are aware that poorly prepared tofu can be quite tasteless, but Green Donna has perfected the art of crafting tofu that's both flavorful and satisfying.

Her products are pricier due to their use of certified organic ingredients. However, when prioritizing health and having the means, there's no need for trade-offs. Once you taste them, you'll develop a genuine appreciation, in the most positive sense. It's abundantly clear that Green Donna's unwavering commitment to quality and taste makes her products stand out in the realm of plant-based cuisine.
