One Picture And One Story Week #7

They say pictures tell a story of a thousand words, they were right. I'm beginning to really enjoy giving a backstory behind pictures I've taken over the years. It is just like giving value to that much cherished memory and the interesting part is that I get to share it with my friends here on Steemit.

Meet my dog, Pip, she was only 2 months old at the time when she got her first visit to the vet. I allowed her get enough attention from her mother before I got her. It's always important to allow a new born puppy to get enough breast milk from their mother before weaning them.

From the date stamp, you can already tell it was during the post-COVID period where everyone was required to always wear a face mask although I had other reasons.

Pip is a terrier and her breed are none for having a lot of loose hair, especially at their early days. I didn't want to start sneezing from that reaction and so as not to cause a panic among other animals caretakers at the vet.

We left the house early on that day, my Dad had dropped us off at the vet before going to his place of work. I could tell Pip was nervous about being far away from home for the first time when she started to get restless and intimated on seeing other dogs. You should see the way she hid behind my legs when she heard other dogs crying from taking their injections.

It was a very stressful day for me because we had to wait for more than 4 hours for our turn despite arriving early. While we were waiting, there was an emergency, a dog that had been poisoned was rushed in. While we waited intently hoping it would survive, I saw the owners worried, one of them was even crying which made me feel very bad for them. After what felt like forever, the dog was stabilized and placed on drip which I took as a positive sign.

Finally it was our turn. Even though Pip cried during her first check up, I was able to make her happy again by giving her treats. On getting home, I let her off her leash and she immediately went to her kennel to sleep. My younger sister was worried at first but the doctor had informed me of this reaction. After a couple of hours, Pip was back to being playful.
