          INTRODUCTION

Hello friends of steem for Pakistan, hope you are enjoying the new week. Safety is a very important topic that is sometimes not taken into consideration by people. Safety is necessary in all areas of our lives and it is very vast. From our personal lives at home to the workplace, to our environment and even the roads. We need to always keep in mind that staying away from being hurt, from danger is our sole responsibility and we should try as much as possible to take our safety serious.

As an Engineering Student, the very first thing we are taught is Safety. We are given reasons why we need to make sure our workspace is safe from danger and injuries. On my first field project, this was really important and it helped me to scale through my internship. Everything that was done in the field was studied to see if it was safe or not. Everyone's safety is important. So as an Engineer (in view), I see to it that I am safe both at home and every where else in the environment.

These are the reasons why we should prioritize safety in our environment:

• Prevention of Death and Injuries: Safety at home and workplace is very important because it prevents death and injuries. Water in the bathroom can cause death and injuries, so it is best we think of safest solutions to avoid that. Thinking of safety first in our environment will prevent death and injuries.

• Prevents Environmental Hazards: Thinking and prioritizing safety means hazards will be prevented. I read that most of the oil spills known to the world was because of safety not being prioritized. When safety is prioritized, this will help to prevent hazards in the environment.

• Makes sure we are healthy: when we practice safety, we will always stay healthy mentally and otherwise.

Our safety is very important and we shouldn't turn a close eye to it. Prioritize safety in your environment.

I have not been in danger because of lack of safety because I always prioritize my safety. But I witnessed someone who was electrocuted almost to death just because he failed to acknowledge simple safety rules.

It was an electricity company that had this accident. The guy repairing the electric wires, wasn't with gloves and I don't know if there wasn't any information to the electric company prior to the time he was repairing the wires. As he was trying to put things in order, next thing we heard were sparks and behold it was from his body. He wasn't with any personal protective equipment, and the current was just passing through his body. He fell off the ropes and was rushed to the hospital after first aid was administered to him. He wasn't dead, but he stayed indoors for months before he could walk and eat well. This would have been prevented if he had his personal protective equipment.

Safety is really important for the kids and the elderly ones. The little ones don't acknowledge how safe a thing is before they venture into it. I teach in a school and I see how the kids play roughly sometimes. They jump, run and attempt things that could injure them. It is always in our place to make sure that they are safe.

We have to tell them what to do and how to do it safely. Most times we tell the kids not to run when using the stairs or not to run at a fast pace in the playground. Safety should be prioritized with the kids and elderly ones, so it is very important to instill into them safety procedures.

Safety should be everyone's priority, but I try to keep my family and I safe, and these are what I do:

I am always cautious of danger. Being cautious and aware of our immediate environment is very important. This is helpful to stay safe in our environment.

I wear personal protective equipments whenever I want to handle electrical appliances or any engineering equipment that might turn out hazardous.

We keep to traffic rules too and stay away from danger.

The whole essence of safety is to keep ourselves and others safe. If we don't follow simple safety rules and also keep the earth safe, this will be bad for everyone.
