I bring greetings to the amazing steemit friends here present in this Nobel community, and to @aaliarubab as the organizer of this contest.
There are times I sit alone trying to imagine how olden days were without communication tools such as phones and the social media apps that come with them. In my imagination, I only feel pity and sorry for them because I know life was not easy on their side, as they could only relate with other people who are physically around them.
Looking at our case, I feel privileged to be in this modern time because technology has made everything possible. Communication is made accessible as you can communicate and relate with other people who are millions of kilometers away from your destination. Business has experienced rapid development due to the presence of communication tools that can easily be used to advertise goods and services.

These took my mind back to when 2go was reigning. As of then, it was one of the social media apps normally used to chat with friends. Back then, I hardly slept at night because I do chat a lot with my classmates. As time came and went, Facebook came on board. That was when 2GO became outdated.
Today, I'm enjoying not only Facebook, but also WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Twitter, and even steemit as social networks. Talking about my experience with these communication tools, I must admit that they have been of help to me in thousands of ways. Through them, I communicate and relate with people whom I couldn't have imagined knowing. I have learned a lot of things that have contributed to my growth as a person.
Nevertheless, these social networks have affected me negatively in some aspects of my life. It sometimes denies me the opportunity to do something which is supposed to be done. I spend much time chatting, and it also keeps me awake when I'm supposed to have been in bed sleeping, which tends to affect my performance during the day.
One beautiful thing about social media and other communication networks is, it connects us with our world and people around the globe. In the course of my interaction with social networks, I have been privileged to meet people who are today more like friends and mentors to me. Although I have come in contact with others who have taken advantage of social media to offend me in many ways, the ones I have built solid relationships with are more. If I'm to be sincere with myself, then I must admit that this movement has helped me build positive relationships with people around the globe.
For instance, I have not met @simonnigwe before, but I talk to him both on phone calls and WhatsApp t me, he has been of help to me ever since we met on this steemit platform, and I respect him a lot. More to that, @patjewell is one person I don't think of ever meeting due to distance, but I see her more like a mother and a mentor. I feel privileged to know her on this platform, and our relationship is positive. Overall, social media and other communication devices have been positive on my side in terms of my relationship with people.
One of the things I can't finish mentioning is the number of things I have learned through technology. If I'm not exaggerating, then I can tell you that my ink might get finish without me exhausting all I have learned using technology. Don't argue with me if I say 80% of the things I know today is with the help of technology.
To mention but few, I have learned cooking, drawing, forex trading, writing, physics, mathematics, and other subjects or courses. I wonder how many things I could have learned without technology. It has made me what I am today.
I have taken advantage of many digital tools to express myself and also to enhance my creative skills and ideas. But the most I have been using are Facebook, twitter, WhatsApp, telegram and more especially steemit platform. These tools have been more of friends to me.
With these social tools, I feel I have the whole world around me. They keep me updated, keep me company in my lonely hours, they offer me knowledge on almost all aspect of life, they connect me with my world and the people that live in it. In conclusion, digital devices have of importance to me and I couldn't have imagined life without it.

Oh gosh! Your post made me think back to the year 1999, and I was told that if I don't have a computer with a dial-up connection, I will be illeterate.
How times have changed from then to now.
These days, we carry "connection" in our pockets.
