"Sharing my General Knowledge"
Polar bears to me are majestic creatures that are built for the cold as the can withstand the coldest temperatures. Thanks to @sahar78 for organizing this revealing Post.
Talking about polar bears,I would say that those creatures are the undisputed kings of the artic and for a good reason though. These creatures have adapted to survive in most of the coldest temperatures on earth.
Furthermore, polar bears have proven to withstand temperature as low as 34°F(36°C) a longer period of time as if that's not enough, they can even withstand and survive in temperature 58°F(50°C) for short bursts. The question now is How do they do it? polar bears have amazing physiology in the sense that they have two layers of fur, a thick undercoat and a longer guard hair layer. Secondly, they have a thick layer of blubber that helps to keep them warm. So this combination of fur and fat helps them to trap warm air next to their skin keeping them cozy even in most coldest temperatures.
According to my research, polar bears are found in five countries around the world with the largest population of them residing in the Artic regions and below is a break down of the countries with the highest number of polar bears 👇
▶️Canada( 16,000
▶️ Russia (3,00-5,000)
▶️ Greenland (2,500-300
▶️ Norway (2,000-3,000)
▶️ United States (3,000)
These countries are all working together to protect and conserve polar bear populations that are been threatened by climate change and habitat loss.
Also from the research I conducted based of polar bears,I don't think they actually eat fruits as part of their diet as they are Carnivorous animals which implies that they primarily feed on meat.
So in talking about their food, seals are the perfect food for polar bears because they are rich in fat and protein which helps to keep them warm and energized in the harsh Artic environment. And also, seals are very abundant in the Artic which makes it a reliable food source for polar bears.
Thanks for your time
I wish to invite @saintkelvin17, @manuelhooks, @okere-blessing and @ishanto
I certainly agree with you that polar bears are created to withstand all manner of cold. I also got to know that the polar bears have two layers of fur which are the thick undercoat and the longer guard layer.
