One day in the time long passed, in the midst of a big forest there used to be a road that seemed to be abandoned. It curved in and out among old trees with branches going upwards like skinny claws. The stones along the path were moss-covered, each of which was whispering a tale of a long lost traveler that had passed by there centuries ago.

A misty morning and the sun’s beams creating silly shapes through the foliage, a lone figure appeared at the path’s beginning. She was a young girl whose eyes were as deep as the forest itself, and her curiosity excited by the charm of the abandoned track.

Looking at each step of the way as she walked, the forest seemed to be enveloping her, and the forest secrets are trying to draw her onwards. She couldn’t stop and the air was smelly with the scent of wildflowers and pine and the tune of unknown creatures in her ears.

She also came upon a patch of sunlight that glittered on the rocks and trees. Standing proud in the middle was the distinguished oak, its roots held a rich heritage. Under the branches of the trees which were broad and wide there was a fine and slim flower, on which there fell glistening starlight on its petals.

The girl was so drawn to its beauty that she stretched out her arms and was reaching to the flower,and while she almost touched its ethereal form, a gentle warmth spread through her entire being. In that instant, she experienced an unbreakable link with the heart of the forest, with its throbbing pulsation that lied in its very heart.

She was neck-deep in the forest, but it had circled her, she stayed in the opening and the stories it told were of strength and persistence, the love and heartbreak, the greatness and the misery. By each narrative the girl felt herself draw a spark, her spirit getting dangled on a cord of the bewitching power of vanished past.

Having done so, the girl was taking her leave from the old oak and the bright-shining flower, as the sun was about to go down showing its light to the horizon, and the sky became red, yellow and orange. With the knowledge thus gained and the respect it had clearly instilled in her, she started her way home, knowing that the path had been forever branded on her heart.
