I hope you are safe and healthy. So today I thought of coming to you with a very beautiful post.

So guys, today I am going to share some information about "Domestic Violence".

The theme of today's competition is one of the popular topics that you hear and see all the time whether you watch television, newspapers or internet. So I am really happy to share with you the information I have heard and learned about domestic violence, which is a problem for many people.

Domestic violence is physical or psychological abuse of someone as a result of a relationship of a personal nature between the victim and the abuser. The oppression does not need to be done in the home environment and can be done outside the home as well.

Involuntary abortion, attempted murder, child cruelty, wounding, grievous bodily harm, false imprisonment, coercion, criminal coercion, mutilation, sexual assault, Acts such as sexual abuse of children, unnatural offenses, serious sexual abuse, criminal intimidation can be termed as physical abuse.

Accordingly, there are several ways in which someone can be oppressed. Insults and insults of a serious nature, swearing with harsh words, doing an act that causes serious immediate distress can be considered mental torture.

A domestic violence case can be prosecuted in the Magistrate's Court. A protective order can be sought to prevent the domestic violence committed by the aggrieved person. Also due to a protection order there is the possibility to order to ensure the safety of the aggrieved person.

The Prevention of Domestic Violence Act can be described as a special milestone in the legal history of Sri Lanka. As a result of continuous efforts and demands made by the women's movement and human rights activists for a long time, the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act was passed in the Parliament on 09-08-2005.

Accordingly, under the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act, the aggrieved party can seek relief regardless of gender. If one party commits acts of domestic violence against the other party using the said relationship, those who belong to the relations described in this Act can be sued against them.

So another important point in this regard is that in order to obtain a protection order, it is not essential that an act of domestic violence has occurred at the same time as the request is made. The victim may request a court order of protection to prevent future domestic violence. For example, a protection order can be sought when death is threatened.

After a case is filed in the court, taking into account the urgent need to prevent the occurrence of domestic violence and the need to ensure safety, if the facts are sufficient to issue an interim protection order, the court should immediately issue an interim protection order. When the court is of the opinion that it is not necessary to issue an interim protection order, the case should be ordered to be heard within 14 days of receiving the relevant request.

Also, an interim protection order is an immediate protection order. Its purpose is to protect the victim from domestic violence by the respondent until a protective order is issued or the trial is over. This order may be issued without hearing the respondent party. Also, this order can be issued even without asking the witnesses of the aggrieved person or that party.

And according to the information I know, a protection order can only be issued for a period of 12 months, i.e. a year. A protection order does not need to be continued. When the court is satisfied that the respondent will not behave violently, this protective order can be lifted and the aggrieved party and the aggrieved party can reconcile.

So till now, in my life and in my surroundings, I have not faced a situation of domestic violence. I am really happy about that. But in our country, a little child was raped and killed. It is really sad. Later, the person who raped Appropriate punishment was received by the Sri Lankan court.

So my opinion about this is that it is difficult for us to change the whole world at once. But we can make ourselves. So a world is created by each human being together. So if we are able to develop our own good qualities, then the whole world will automatically be filled with peace and happiness. It will be a beautiful paradise.
