My chosen dish is a local dish that is very popular in the eastern part of Nigeria 🇳🇬 which is the Igbos it's called ABACHA this is a very special meal in the Igbo region.

This meal is very special to me as it has lots of memories behind it, the first day I tasted this meal 😋 it was very delicious as I nearly cut of my fingers while leaking then after finishing 1 plates of it 😂.
At first I never liked the meal because I taught it wasn't delicious but the first time it entered my mouth I wish it shouldn't finish, I felt as if I was in heaven enjoying myself and this meal is very special to me and it has also nail a place in my heart.

Each time I set my eyes on ABACHA as the name implies I won't mind borrowing money from someone to eat it 😅 you can see why this dish is very special to me, again my grandma was the one who taught me how to eat it very well and it was she that cooked the first plate of ABACHA that I even ate but unfortunately she's no more as she died during the civid 19 pandemic and I will forever be great full to her for lecturing me about ABACHA.

Wen she was alive she taught me how to prepare ABACHA and the first time I tried preparing it myself, hmm 🤣 it was a hilarious as it didn't have taste and I ended up throwing it away and went back to learn more about preparing ABACHA.
You can see that this meal have a lot of memories and it's special to me because each time I look at it I always remember the good time I had with my grandma when she was still alive, may her soul rest in peace Amen 🙏.

What is the story behind your favourite food captured

After the death of my grandma I never had the appetite to eat ABACHA again because each time I see it I always remember my grandma so I try to avoid it so I could forget about her.

This year is exactly 3 years since I lost my grandma, so I just taught of eating my favorite ABACHA after a long period of abstaining from it due to the death of my grandma.

As a young man i always do things that makes me happy and one of it is eating good food 😅 I know you will be surprise but I won't lie because I love food very much infact I don't joke with food at all.

I went to the market to buy the items needed to prepare ABACHA and luckily for me I met my aunt on my way to the market and she accompanied me and bought all the ingredients needed to prepare ABACHA, and she followed me to the house and helped me to prepare the ABACHA and it was very delicious, I really enjoyed myself as went on to accompany the meal it with a bottle of wine 🍷.

Me and my aunt really had fun eating this delicious meal and I dedicated it to my grandma with a one minute silent before we started eating.

• I will want to enjoy this meal for the rest of my life and I pray that God keeps me alive as it will be my wedding meal hahaha 😃 am just preparing ahead and I pray that God gives me a good wife.

• Another this is that, I am not yet perfect in preparing ABACHA so I will make sure I learn the remaining process from my aunt or my mum.
  Because one day I will become a man of my own and I don't like eating food outside so is best I learn how to prepare it now.

I wish to be eating this meal 😋 at least once in a month, and when ever I am going out to enjoy myself I always put this meal in my budget 😅.
