The Diary Game (11.04.2024) "Eid Across Borders: Embracing New Traditions with Love and Laughter"

The long-awaited day of Eid finally arrived. It was the end of a month of fasting and spiritual thought called Ramadan. As I am in another country and don't have many cooking facilities here I thought of doing something short cut. To save time, I made a quick chicken biryani and a sweet treat to enjoy with my husband and baby.

My husband left for Eid prayers in the morning. Having a small breakfast, taking a short break, and then having our Eid meal. After that, we went for a walk.

Since it was nice outside, I thought we might go to a shopping mall to do some shopping. After getting ready, we went for a short walk inside the air force station. We went to a busy buying mall named Saravana stores to look for sarees, which are an important part of our culture and have bright colors and different textures.

We treated ourselves to the delicious tastes of sandwich panipuri and ice cream in the middle of the mall's chaos, enjoying every moment of our last-minute trip.

We were looking forward to the evening's events, including a party for qualified flying instructors, where my husband held a prestigious post. The party location was beautiful and sparkly, with detailed decorations that set the mood for a night of entertainment and celebration. Within the noise and laughter, my son was enjoying the event to the fullest, while I enjoyed meeting new people and making new connections in this new setting.
As the night went on, the dance floor called to us, lulling us into the beat of the music. We danced freely, making memories that would last long after the party was over, surrounded by new friends and the party's contagious energy.

Meeting two Bangladeshi bhabis and having a great time with them was one of the best parts of the night. Their warmth and friendship made our parties even better. We formed ties that went beyond language and culture through laughter, rumors, and shared moments, living out the true spirit of Eid.

With the night coming to a close, we sat down to a delicious dinner with dear friends, enjoying the taste of home. We left the celebrations with hearts full of thanks and memories to remember. Our hearts were full of the warmth of a truly memorable Eid celebration as we went home.

Looking back, spending Eid abroad wasn't just different from what people usually do; it also showed how strong the human spirit is and how people can find happiness and connection in the strangest places. It was a day full of love, laughter, and the ties that bring us all together in the Eid spirit.
