Hello friends home and abroad warm regards to everyone, I'm Anthony from Nigeria and it's a pleasure to have you on my post, I'm delighted to engage in this week's amazing Contest titled: "One Picture And One Story" organized by @suboohi which I am going to share with you all an amazing photograph and by doing well as telling a short story about it.

The story behind the picture

I was at Ikom on the date "10-01-2025," the day I took this picture shown here. I saw how they were packing dried cocoa seeds(cocoa beans), and I found it creative and decided to write something about it.

In Cross River State, Ikom is one of the local government areas where you can find millions of cocoa beans. The majority of the people in Ikom are cocoa farmers, which is why there are supplies of cocoa in the town. Ikom is good at exporting cocoa.
Cocoa has contributed to Nigeria's economic growth rapidly, and it's very expensive and also very high in antioxidants.

Production

However, cocoa was cut from the trees fresh when the pods were ripe, with a red or yellow color appearance. Then they would break the cocoa pods and lick the seed because it's edible, and if it is being licked, it would enable it to dry off faster.

• The fresh seeds are then dried to remove excess moisture.
  Cocoa trees can produce 1,000 a year, each pod having 20-40 cocoa beans.

The dried cocoa beans have been packaged in various bags and are ready to be sold to a buyer. Cocoa is the main product in chocolate, and other products are made of cocoa. Thanks for reading my post. You all have a blessed day.
