La la land...
Land changes its owners over a period of time.
No man can claim land ownership forever
I have been listening about lands, our lands since my childhood. My grandfather's side family was/is into land and they utilized it to make a living.
Our lands are not near where I live, we can't visit them daily, only men go there regularly. However, I go there with my cousins occasionally when there is food distribution among the people invited. Or to simply have a day out on our lands and have a party.
We always feel that it's our right to own them not knowing how they were earned by our ancestors. How most of their land was left behind during partition.
I had the privilege to listen to a chat between my Grandfather (Nana Abu ) and my Uncle (Taya Abu) who are almost of same age. Though my taya Abu gets offended if anyone calls him old, he is sick with the disease of old age and always talks about his illnesses.
This is the reason nobody among his children wants to listen to his stories of diseases. He bores them.
This time a conversation between these two old men was about lands. All got up to save their time from his boring stories. I sat there, I wanted to listen, there is a khair in listening to Old people around us and getting some wisdom.
My Taya Abu told him about the case they fought in the 70s with people of the same town for a piece of land.
They fought and spent their money like water.
The case was in the court, both parties were equally strong and not ready to back off.
He said that he wasted a good fortune and time when he was only 21 over the lands.
People have been fighting for land ownership since the beginning.
How foolish we are.
He said we finally realized our mistake and decided to shake hands in the court and end this bloodshed.
It was in 1971 he said, when an agreement was signed between both parties, a give and take, to end this insanity. In the same year, my country couldn't hold onto its land in the east and ultimately lost it in the form of Bangladesh.
On that my nana Abu said: because the land changes its Sayeen (owner) after a few decades. Today it is mine, yesterday it was my grandfather's and tomorrow it will be my children's.
A land can't withstand one owner. It's the law of nature. Still, man fights for this piece of earth which he can't keep forever.
The only thing we can do is to take care of the land we have when we own it, to make good use of it to benefit the community.
My nana Abu told him that the area where he lived was agricultural land during his youth. This land was earned and taken care of by the men who are below those lands now. They have fought for them.
Now when you visit my town, you'll not see any land,
you'll only see shops, houses, and colonies.
The descendants of the lands sell those lands for which their ancestors fought, just for money.
This is the worth of your land, your time, and the money you spent on them.
On this, my taya Abu again became emotional about our recent land that was wrongly taken by his relatives. We did everything we could but the opponent went too low and we gave up on that.
He sighed and said, I often worry about their wrong and unlawful doing. But then I think, There is Allah, All-knowing, All-seeing.
The Prophet said, "Whoever takes a piece of the land of others unjustly, he will sink down the seven earths on the Day of Resurrection."
Next, their conversation turned to politics and how Pakistan got less land. If they hadn't given pakistan and East Pakistan two separate lands, both countries would have been strong enough against India.
My Taya Abu is still up to date Without using social media and having the latest updates about the world happening.
I am always fascinated by his knowledge, his past stories, and his style of storytelling apart from his being sick.
I am glad that I listened to their conversation to get some real-life lessons like:
No one among us is chosen person for a land everlasting, it is Allah who chooses people for his land again and again. It is he who makes a land fertile or barren for you
One should walk humbly on land, otherwise, life humbles you in the most unexpected manner
Fight for your land while obeying the law but above all utilize your land to benefit humanity.
A person, who sows seed on his land, takes care of it for months, harvests the crop when it finally becomes food for humans, has finally justified his land ownership. What will be more righteous deed than to feed humanity?
I wonder why we don't listen to aged people anymore, who will listen to us when we don't listen to our grandparents?
They just want listening ears and they become happy and you may in return find a story to share with the world:)

Hello dear your beatiful story explained to how ownership is temporarys & how we should value the lessons from our predecessor. you are a reminder that land like life is a trust that should be used wisely and humbly. Listening to the stories of the old can give us valuable awareness and keep us conected to our roots.
Best of luck..
Thank you sara, i like your name:)
I'm glad that you read my post and like my insights.
We punjabies and pakistanies used to spend our money and lives in such cases. A family of my relatives fought a case for 50 years and spent millions on it. شاملات , these lands are a major source of such cases and bloodshed fights. Like the recent dispute in Parachanar, the shamalts are the potential reason to start it and then it turns into a fight among sects with more then 100 deaths on both sides. And obviously, the government is not interested in solving it. Someone correctly said about our dear homeland "رولے والا پلاٹ"
The lines in second last paragraph are heart touching. Very well done🤞
Yrrr i shouldn't laugh but this is funny🤣
Have you seen Monal being shut down? Janti ho na peechy kon hai qabzay kay.
I haven't seen any media coverage of what is happening in parachanar, as it doesn't interest people holding offices.
You know what my taya Abu said last day which i didn't include in the story?
That today's generation is not ready to end fights, they don't wanna shake hands with their enemies, which is the only way out in life.
What that meant is, lara maro khoob axhi tarha lekin phir sulah karlo. But our generation doesn't fight as low as previous generation used to do. This is the only reason we have no bigger hearts for our enemies(who fight like previous generation).
Now you tell me, would you shake hands with your opponent even if you lose or win in the court(enemy=your relatives)?
Jitna kuch ho gaya h ...ab to sab pta hota h k kon h🤫
Ya gate neya bnaya h security k lya 🙃🙈...adha mulk in ka pas h ...Baqi ka khon choos rhy...
And your Taya aba is very right about this generation zeeeee....these are pigheaded but don't have a trace of brain .
I'm genZ😶
