"Contest - "FREEDOM" 🕊️✌️
For me, freedom means to act without any external pressure. To speak, write, and take decisions in your life without anyone giving you dictations to do otherwise. On steemit, freedom is to write anything you want as long as it is not blasphemous content. The liberty to take your choices in life: education, marriage, Professional career, come under freedom. The right or entitlement to speak freely about your thoughts in public and private gatherings is freedom (often called freedom of speech) If you're supressed to share your views and ideas in any gathering it clearly shows no sign of freedom. Freedom is the previlige to think with your open mind, without any fear of authority, society, family, and friends. Absolutely yes Freedom liberates the humans from the confinement of slavery, imprisonment is not just physical but also mental, in which you can't take your life's decisions. Every human has the right to get a degree of their choice, to get married to a person he or she likes, to persue a career of their liking, to wear whatever clothes (as long as they are not inappropriate in their culture). Freedom starts from minor levels, from our homes when no one is imposing their decisions on each other. For instance: Desired marriage is a personal choice in which every person should have the freedom. I have seen in my society that this freedom is given only to men. They can marry a girl they like unlike many women. Even if woman is given the freedom to marry anyone, she is looked down in future by the society, in some cases being called a slut. The consequence of their marriage(if failed) is on the girl only. Her parents and society doesn't support her. The people also tend to rely upon bureaucrats to remedy social problems, including even human rights violations, rather than the court. On a major level: I still remember when my cousin was abducted by the armed forces for speaking for his rights in our countryside. He didn't return for couple of weeks. His mother fell ill in his sorrow and died shortly after he returned. His father followed his mother's path a few days after. They paid the price for voicing about their rights and occupation. I just wanted to laugh reading Freedom in my country. Pakistan has no: We once used to think that Pakistan is a free country after getting independence in 1947. But the policies of our internal matters were not in control of our govt. It never did. There was(is) always an external force (who must not be named) taking decisions for our country. Whether to elect a new PM or to remove a current PM. The power of people's elected govt body is no more than any slave. He can't take any decision for his country without getting an approval from the establishment. He can't visit any country to build economic ties, which an external force or establishment dislike. And if he dares to refuse a proposal to use his land(country) for drone attack route to another country, then surely it's his last day in the office. Same goes for our judiciary and media. A judge can't give a fare verdict and trial to the culprit. Our judges receive written verdicts from our armed forces, his job is only to read it and run immediately for his medical appointment. There are more innocent people in our jails than innocent children in the laps of their mothers. The media can't on air any news against the govt(not the one elected by our people:p). If any journalist is found to speak against them on media or YouTube, he is surely gonna get shot in his head to death or worse disappearance by force (to become a missing person). Many senior journalists have survived the deadly bullets shot by our state:) I wouldn't get tired writing about our freedom but you'll surely get tired while reading it. In our least populated province, there is no freedom for any one. There is no media coverage of opression of the state on the people, who raise their voice for their basic humans rights in the: education, resources, and politics. Their fate is decided by You Know Who. Pick up, and Dump Well, in some sectors surely Pakistan has freedom. In the developed provinces and cities, every men and women have the freedom to get education in any field. Pakistan is encouraging females to choose fields like journalism, Civil services, Air forces, and armed military forces. It was just a taboo for women to persue their career in these field primarily due to male dominace there. Many young ladies are becoming civil and military officers after going through training like boys in my country. However, in less developed provinces and cities not every person has the freedom of choice in their career, marriage, and social life. I see women are excelling more efficiently in their professions than most of the men. In the northern areas, there are many restaurants and places run by women. It is the freedom given by our state, no doubt. Late pride of our country: The defeat of freedom in Pakistan: It happen in every elections, one party is always supressed their right to campaign. Police pick up any person they want, they threat people not to vote a specific party, crackdowns are seen everywhere in the country for specific party and people. Justice and freedom are seen in my country but only in the dictionary:)
— Shigenori Matsui, "The protection of 'Fundamental human rights' in Japan.
Freedom is a fundamental human right that any govt should ensure for their citizens. I have seen govts giving freedom as long as it concern them.
Still gonna write it.
Currently, pakistan is going through a democratic elections for next PM.
Parties are busy in their election campaigns, but not all the parties are allowed to do so.Special Mention:
Hey, I understand your frustration regarding freedom and "your country," but I guess these are the issues faced by every other nation in the world. It's all a power game, abuse of power, dirty politics, and everything that comes under the umbrella.
Having said that, I'm utterly thankful to Almighty for this freedom. As a nation, it's our duty and faith to keep playing a positive role. I acknowledge the disheartening situation regarding inflation, politics, and general policies, but at the same time, there is progress. Not a single house is deprived of media and the internet. These resources are now within the common man's reach. And we are expressing our views freely 🙂
A good post indeed, but let's just cool down a bit 😉. I'm hopeful for the future 🤞
Hi👧
I just wrote this piece while enjoying the freedom we have on steemit to write anything. That's the beauty of steemit, Indeed.
I know power and dirty politics is the same everywhere but the heart of a young girl fails to accept it in her own country. What enrages me is the fact that our votes (which we casted after standing 2hours under sun and getting heavily tanned) have no worth:( They should've considered women's skin care sacrifices a bit😢
Ahista bolain, they are already against media (social media).
I see people who are hopeful don't watch news so i am gonna try this now😀
Sahi sahi... Hush... Bilkul ahista 😉😜
