Healthiest oil for cooking?

Oil has come to be a great and an integral part of our culinary history. Imagine the culinary world without oil, hahaha. It would really be a lot. So the importance of oil cannot be over emphasized.

Oil is a source of fat but there are unhealthy fats and that’s why the subject of healthy oils come in as unhealthy ones could pose a health risk.

There are different healthy oils such as; avacado oil gotten from avacado fruit when it’s pressed, rapseed oil, red palm oil gotten from palm fruit, coconut oil, sunflower oil, canola oil, groundnut oil, etc but the healthiest oil is the olive oil.

The olive oil

The olive oil is gotten from the olive fruits juice. It’s has so many heath benefits. Olive oil reduces the risk of having type two diabetes and also protects the heart from heart diseases which is the main reason for always opting for healthy oils.

In its structure, it has one double bond and this gives it the ability to resist changes during cooking hence it’s a MUFA. In olive oil, Oleic acid is the principal MUFA and it’s less likely to combine with oxygen (oxidize) to about 50 times in comparison with linoleum acid which is the principal PUFA present in some other healthy oils too such as corn oil and sun flower oil.

Olive oil contains nutrients such as vitamin E and many prophenols and these acts as protective antioxidants.

If you opt for the virgin olive oil, you’ll also benefit from the protective antioxidant properties of numerous polyphenols and nutrients like vitamin E. It has a high smoke point which suit any type of cooking you want and there’s the unrefined and refined version which is suitable if you are low on budget.

Most sweetest fruit?

I love fruits because of their natural sugar and their numerous health benefits as they are packed with vitamins and minerals.

There are so many sweet fruits such as banana, sweet oranges, cherries, grapes, pineapple, but the sweetest fruit is mango, particularly the Carabao mango.

This is a proven fact from the GRW (Guinness world record)source. The Carabao mango is said to be the sweetest fruit because of the amount of fructose which it contains.

It’s cultivated in the Philippines and also called the Manila mango or the champagne mango. It has a bright yellow colour when ripe and it’s said to be very aromatic and very sweet with a melting consistency that is tender. Wow. I do hope to get a taste of it one day cos mango is my best fruit.

Potassium is a very good and essential
Mineral in the body Because it helps in all the functions of the body. It helps the muscles of our heart and our nerves to function well, it also helps in the movement of waste materials and nutrients around our body there by regulating fluid balance.

Fruits are a rich source of potassium and some fruits rich in potassium includes;

  • Guava
  • Banana
  • Kiwi
  • Avacado
  • Oranges
  • Honeydew
  • Cantaloupe
  • Grapefruits and
  • Apricots
