It was a very peaceful night or so it seems for the Channons family. The Channons were a family of five who live in a beautiful house built by Mr Channon . It was a four bedroom duplex with adjoining room for each member of the family and then the master bedroom for Mr Channon and his wife.

This family is very comfortable and they were actually the talk of the neighborhood because they seem to be have a sense of affluence in their living and the house and the way it was built made it to stand out in their little neighborhood.

Mr Channon had a white collar job that pays him handsomely at the end of every month and his beautiful car which he drives. He also bought a car for his wife who was running a very successful business in their neighborhood. I’d say they were the envy of the little neighborhood.

In the compound was a very active dog name Tams. Tams was the terror of the neighborhood. He was so ferocious that no body dare enters the compound who isn’t a part of the house hold.

The first day I visited the Channons, I literally had to stay outside till Tams was securely locked up before I could come into the house. The house was fine and they had a good sense of hospitality. I had a good time with them because we worked in the same company but Mr Channon was My Senior colleague. A very far senior colleague, one of the managers of the company were we worked in.

Then comes this supposed peaceful night when everything took a different turn. The Channons had had their usual night food and was retired for the day. They usually released Tams as a watch dog to guard the night while they sleeps. Armed men have severally tried to break into the compound and steal but Tams had out witted them severally.

This particular night they came prepared. The night was unusually quiet and Tams voice wasn’t heard either. Mr Channon and his wife was awoken out of sleep by a flash light in their room. They bewilderness on their faces as they told the story to their amazement was worthy of note.

Armed men had broken into their houses that night and on gun point had demand they give them their phones, money and etc. They took all the phones, laptops, television screens, their atm cards and etc and made away with them in the middle of the night. Before they could raise an alarm, the robbers had gone with all their valuables.

The question remained, where was Tams the watch dog. They were still wondering only to go in search of Tams and there they saw him laid dead in its pool of blood. The robbers had thrown a poisoned food over the fence to Tams and he had eaten it and died while they waited till he was immobilized to break through the wired fence and rob the Channons.

It was a very sad moment for the family, not just for the loss of their valuable possessions but also for the loss of the adorable dog Tams. My heart melted when I had this true life experience of the channons and I can’t help but wonder to what extent people can go just to perpetuate their evil. I extended my condolence to them for their loss. When there’s life there hope for recovery but they will ever live to have that gap of losing their adorable dog to men of the under world.

Hope you enjoyed the true story of the channons. It wasn’t a good ending but they are better and stronger. They survived.

I invite @ruthjoe @redileep @lhorgic to comment on this story.
