“Africa:My view,Myself wk5”
It is a pleasure to be participating in this contest for the first time my dear steemians.I’m so in love with this week topic,everyone gets to share their view about it and what they actually think of it.
This week is all about Africa,My Africa!My continent!Lets take a look and talk about my Africa lovelies.
What does Africa mean to you? |

What comes to your mind when you hear the word Africa?well to me a whole lot of things comes to my mind,when I hear Africa I think of black people,beautiful cultures,amazing delicacies,extraordinary traditions and rituals,I think of black supremacy ,the war,independent and a whole lot more.Africa is by far more than just a word,it is currently 2nd continent with the most habitants.
My Africa ,my mother land is blessed with so much cultures and varieties,be it food,gold ,treasures and the likes.Africa is my home ,my continent,my place of birth,the place my forefathers fought for us to have a place to call home,where they endured so much to be able to have a place for the black and so did they and we have a place called “Africa” where even the ones who colonized us what to be,want to learn about our cultures and all the amazing things that we have in our continent .
Why is Nigeria regarded as the giant of Africa? |

Amongst all the countries in Africa,Nigeria is crowned the giant of Africa why?well that is because amongst all the countries,Nigeria has the largest population of habitants of about 200 million ,it’s economy that is high,it’s diverse culture and languages.Nigeria is awesomely blessed by God with oil and other natural resources,there a whole lot of things one can find in this country,it’s so much blessed with crops,animals,resources that are useful and a whole lot there by earning the title of “Giant of Africa”.

I am an African!A proud African for that matter.I have the blood of my forefathers running through my viens,a beautiful black skin that I won’t give up on,the spirit of an African in me,reminded of how my forefathers struggled to get us a land so yes I am proud of Africa and I am proud it is my continent.

Whenever I speak of Africa,I am reminded of a whole lot of things,they pain they went through to get freedom,the slavery,the racism and a whole lot.It reminds me of what I was taught and also the poem of “Africa my Africa by David Diop” it was a poem I loved in literature thou I don’t really like poems but this got me,I can remember that we performed the poem in an acting way during one of my school’s performances and it was beautiful,students dressed in different attires of cultures in Africa and demonstrating the pains and hurt went through to get us liberty.So tell me why I shouldn’t be proud of my mothers land?i am proud to be black!i am proud to be Africa ,I am proud to be Nigerian and more proud to be a Yoruba,omo luabi(a good child)

Africa has about 54 countries in it,A contingent with 54 countries of all black precooked people with different cultures and traditions.Out of 54 countries,I am going to be mentioning just 5 and explaining one.The 5 countries I will be mentioning are:
- Nigeria🇳🇬
- Ghana🇬🇭
- Benin Republic🇧🇯
- Algeria 🇩🇿
- South Africa🇿🇦
Out of the 5 countries,I will be taking briefly Jon Benin Republic.I’m sure you are wondering why Benin republic well I was born and raised in Benin republic so I’m very much familiar with its history and their way of life.It was formerly called “Danhomey” before independence,just like any other African countries,they also fought tirelessly for their independence with the women of Danhomey called the “Agochie,the Amazon women”.
It is a country blessed with a wide range of seas,rivers and lakes and other resources,since independence ,They have improved greatly,they were colonized by France that’s why they are a French speaking country and they use the currency of “frans cfa “.It is currently ruled by “Patrice Talon” who has been doing his best in developing Benin to be a better country.Port-novo is the capital city of Benin while Cotonou is the economy city of Benin where most business and trades takes place.
In Conclusion I hope you all got to learn one or two from my view of my Africa and got to know something you probably haven’t yet.Thank you for reading through 🥰
