Greetings great steemians , am truly glad to participate in this wonderful contest titled write a short story

Once upon a time there live a little pretty damsel in the village loved and cherish by all except her wicked stepmother who is so just jealous of her because of the way people like the girl and despise her children because of their Ill character.

This girls name is Dora and a native of idiato in umuatoti land,

Her mother died while giving birth to her so the father remarried two years after her birth saying he can't raise the child alone,

Is already 18 years since her birth and it has all been terrible for her because her step mother doesn't give her a breathing space not even in the midnight,

She always pray that a help will always come but it seems that help is far from her and her father who is a traveller seems not to notice the child's depression because he's never around and anytime he come back the stepmother pretends that all is well,

One-day the stepmother sitting on the chair outside her small hut taught of killing Dora because suitors are coming to marry her and not her own child who is five years younger than Dora,

Many thoughts came across her mind on what steps to take and she finally decided to kidnap her on her way to the river making it seem like Dora was assassinated,

Dora on her own took her step mother as her own mother and never knew such evil thought could cross her mind,

One early morning she called Dora and ask her to go fetch water in a stream close to the next village,

Dora with a pure heart accepted to do just that and set off to her journey

Dora walked 15 miles away from home and almost getting close to the river and suddenly a man rushed to her and drag her off the street, she immediately turned to see who the person was and discovered it was her father who came back yesterday night,

She asked her what she was doing and he asked her to keep quiet and suddenly the saw three huge man going from the river side and looking very angry and deadly,

They hide till noon to make sure those man are no where to be find.

The stepmother on the other side was excited that the girl hasn't come back thinking she was dead but she was scared that she hasn't seen her husband that morning but anyway her mission is accomplished,

The huge man came in immediately to see her and told her that the didn't see the girl and that she didn't come to the river the whole time,

The huge man asked her to pay them saying they kept their own bargin and it was the woman who didn't keep her own end of the bargin by not sending the girl to the river but the woman refused saying that their mission is not accompany,

The huge men being impatient shot the woman and made away with all she had on her,

Later in the day the girl and the father came back and discovered what happened ,

The girl asked the father how he knew what was happening and the father told her that he overheard the stepmother discussing with the thugs at the back of the house when he came back but they didn't see her

The stepmother who wasn't fully died confessed her evil deeds and immediately dropped died.

Although the girl was bitter on losing her step mother but she was also grateful for her life

Indeed what goes around, comes around
