Contest Alert || "What if you have power to change the one law of your country?"
Hello my friends in Steem For Pakistan community. I hope we all are doing well today. I feel good and happy about me joining and having a say in this contest organized by @abdullahw2 titled “What if you have the power to change the one law of your country”? There are a few questions which I’d love to provide answers to.
I hope you reason with me as well. Let’s go!
What do you know about the laws? Tell us briefly.
Laws can be defined as a body of rules and regulations which governs a number of people living in a particular area, state or country.
Laws are not meant to be optional for everyone to follow. When something is called “Law”, it means everybody must follow it as long as it affects you.
Here in my country, we have so many laws like Right to freedom of speech, Right to education and so much more.
If you could change one law in your country, what would it be?
I hope a day like this happens when I will be given the privilege to make a law in my country or change a particular law we are following.
If I’m to change one law, I’d make a law for marriage. It’s basically going to be about what age people should get married especially ladies. I won’t only do that but make sure that everyone follows this law.
In the Northern part of my country, most young girls who are not even up to the legal age are getting married to men who are more than thirty years older than them. That’s a crazy act which is rampant here and I want it to stop.
Why do you think this law needs to be changed?
If someone is a kid, let he or she understand the fact that he is a kid. Do not stress or pressure them. Do not push them to marriage because they can barely make decisions all by themselves.
These kids haven’t even gotten enough education whether formal or informal so pushing them to a lifestyle where they have to make decisions for themselves can be very crazy.
Right now, we have so many illiterates and unemployed youths in the country which is as a result of this. If this is my only reason, I hope I’m able to change such law.
How this change will affect the society and your country?
It will affect the society positively. At least, kids will be able to exercise their Right to education and also their Right to freedom of speech because if those things are exercised, I’m sure no kid would want to experience marriage at a very tender age.
Also, we will have more educated youths and people who can speak and defend themselves when they grow up. That’s the kind of future we want. A future where there are lots of educated people and employed people.
The country would even have lesser rate of poor people.
How about you? Do you think I’m right? Do you agree with me at all? If yes, I’d love to invite some of my friends @josepha @stef1 and @simonwigwe to answer these few questions as well.
