What do you understand by the word Karate?
In roughly translation of the Japanese the word Kara means empty, and te, meaning hand ( empty hand) Karate is a martial art was originated in Okinawa, Japan. It is a form of self-defense that uses a combination of strikes, kicks, and blocks to overpower opponents. Karate also emphasizes discipline, focus, and respect for oneself and others. It is a practiced for both as a form of physical exercise and as a means of developing mental and spiritual strength.
List and explain 3 techniques in Karate.
✅Kihon: This particular form of training was originally introduced to aid us in understanding and developing katas. We also use Kihons to understand a better techniques on how you can stand, block, kick, and punch. First you use one technique at a time, then you can use them in combination. With enough repetition of this drills the neural pathway for those movements become stronger, that fine tunes motor skills and develops muscles memory. At a subconscious level we are then able to execute the movement thinking about it.
✅Kata: kata is sequence of a pre-arranged movement. It was developed by past masters as a way of recording differents fighting system, allowing them to passed down from generation to generation. Kata was also used as an effective training tools for practicing defending and counterattacking against imaginary attackers using mul-directional, sequential combination in a stimulated fight.
The principles of Kata can not only be applied in martial arts but in many processes that we do everyday if you are learning something new, for instance, when learning to drive a car you have to be consciously aware of when to press the break and to shift gears and how far the steering wheel needs to turn to move the car in a particular direction or way. That's how karate are used to help remember the fundamental movement and techniques in karate.
✅Kumite: Kumite which is also known as sparring is a training with another people where the techniques acquired from Kata and Kihons utilised and deployed immobilize the opponent in a controlled manner. This can be against some one your own build, someone smaller even bigger, teaching the students to apply the techniques to any opponents.

I would love to recommend ( the karate kid) 1964 for Steemians, the Karate Kid is a semi-autobiographical story based on the life of its screenwriter, Robert Mark Kamen. At 17 years old, after the 1964 New York World's Fair, Kamen was being beaten up by a group of bullies. The classic martial arts follows the story of a a little boy called Daniel who moved to another town to practice karate from a wise mysterious martial arts master called mr. Miyagi. The amazing movie is not only entertaining and actions packed, but also it teaches avl valuable life lessons about discipline and perseverance including the power of mentorship.
I love the karate kid because it's a great mix of a heartwarming moments, thrilling fight and humorous moments. The relationship between Daniel and Mr. Miyagi his master is incredibly touching, even the training montage are really inspiring and fun to watch. Because it is a timeless classic movie that continues to resonate with audience of all ages
Tell us the steemian you will love to playfully fight a Karate with and why.

Because we both love to watch Japanese or Chinese movies, Is going to be a friendly and spirited display of talent and sportsmanship, for the both us while demonstrating our love for martial arts and our commitment to continuous improvement. It would be an exciting and entertaining showdown that embodies the spirit of friendly competition and mutual respect. And I will use that opportunity to also teach him a little lesson.
