✅What language makes you proud and why?

The language I am proud of is Indonesian, because it is a symbol of unity and national identity. As a unifying language from the extraordinary diversity of cultures and regional languages in Indonesia, this language has an inspiring history.

✅Can you tell the history of the language you are proud of, how it became a language and became common among the people?

  1. Origin
Malay is used in trading areas because it is simple and easy to learn by speakers from various backgrounds.

  2. Role in the National Awakening
At the Second Youth Congress (October 28, 1928), Indonesian was officially declared as the language of unity through the Youth Pledge. This is an important historical milestone, because the Indonesian language was agreed upon by various ethnic groups to replace the Dutch language that was dominant at that time.

  3. Ratification and Development
After the Proclamation of Independence (1945), the Indonesian language was inaugurated as the national language and included in the 1945 Constitution Article 36. Over time, this language has developed through education, media, and social interaction, until now it is used by more than 270 million people.

✅How to avoid miscommunication in language and how to create effective communication?

Here are some ways to avoid it:

  1. Use Clear and Precise Language
Avoid ambiguous words or terms that are too technical without explanation. Use a simple sentence structure and get straight to the point.
  2. Pay Attention to Tone and Style of Speech
In oral communication, intonation and tone greatly affect meaning. Make sure the tone does not sound offensive or aggressive.
  3. Ensure Understanding
Clarify by asking questions such as, "Is what I said clear?" or "What do you think about this?"
  4. Avoid Assumptions
Don't assume that everyone understands a particular term or context. It's better to explain in detail if there is a new concept.

how to create effective communication

  1. Empathy
This helps you choose the right words and delivery methods.
  2. Simplicity
Convey ideas briefly and concisely. Information that is too complicated tends to be confusing.
  3. Active Listening
Listen to the person you are talking to without interrupting. Show attention with appropriate body language.
