“Steemit Engagement challenge S11/S4- How is the democracy functioning in your country?”

Steem greetings to all , welcome to my blog today. It’s a pleasure participating in this new week 4 Steemit Engagement challenge.I will be sharing my thoughts with you people focused on the questions given .Which goes as “How is the democracy in your country functioning”.

Countries have different form of government but all is aimed maintaining peace, order and smooth functioning in the county.Not wasting so much time, I will be sharing my country experience. Based on the guided questions given below?

Democracy can be defined as government by people, for the people and the people.From this I think everything in the country normally should involve leader and people .Here Decentralization Is needed to be in smooth functioning of the country .

I will say democracy is more of theory than pratical in country Cameroon.Decision making is is in the hands of the leaders .This means what so every they decide no body should try to riot but just need to accept. There is no freedom of speech in my country, people are not allowed to air their mind or grievances. There is freedom in voting but at the end elections is was rigged by those in charge and the winning part as usual.

Right now there is an anglophone crisis , Which has existed for almost 7years .Many people have died , property destroyed.Alot of things have really Happen.All these is because people are not allowed to express their grievances or involved in decisions making together In decision making .I will say there is no democracy practiced in my many aspects as I have highlighted above.

I will say no my country is a an authoritarian leaders led by autocratic government.Power is centralized in the hands of state leaders and individuals in controlled of the country resources.like I mentioned people have no saying as far as the country functioning is concerned .People are being imposed with decision taken them to implement with questionable.

There is a very big gap between leaders and government.In my country almost all the leader are very autocrates .As I speak my country is not free dorminating rule either from the government we regard as hierarchies.Even right now some countries who have signed accords of understanding still exploit our resources and have the aspect of foreign dorminating policy.

My country is a very blessed place when comes to the production of varieties of food.My country is one of the most highest country in Africa that have huge production out foods both in the rainy and dry season. Such as healthy plantain ,cocoa , cassava production that id turned to Garri manufacturing, vegetable etc.

For this reasons, I will say food production is very sufficient for people in my country.We have Ten regions in my country, there is no regions that is not blessed with the production of food .From the map below all these regions in Cameroon are very self sufficient with food production.

Majority of the youth population in my country are unemployed.Due the corrupt system of the government.You see many intelligent and educated youth roaming around without no jobs .Jobs are given to those who do not merits because they have relative who are working in high positiond in the government system.

Most youth in my country are self employment by acquiring skills to end something and not only depending on the government.Even with this there is a high rate of unemployment.Also, few jobs are created with limited chances that can’t satisfy majority people,I think a lot of thinks or strategies is needed to be put in place by the government of my country to increase job opportunities, fight against bribery and corruption for majority youths tobe employed.

• I want my country to be a federal government, where everything will not be centralized in one region like the capital region.Also, if everything is decentralized others will benefits a lot from regions Power will shared amonge people.
• Democracy should be implemented and practice in country than to have leaders who are autocrates
• Create more employment for the youth .This can done by ending bribery and corruption practiced by leaders.
• The government should look more better ways to end the Anglophone crisis.
• More scholarship should be offered in education sectors .
• There should change in the leadership.The president of my countries is one the oldest president in the world .He has ruled for more than 50years.I think others should have the opportunity rule.
