SEC-S19 / W3 | "Money or Peace?"
Money can provide us with comfort and some level of security but cannot buy happiness.
Peace of mind can contribute to our mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.
Before I start answering the questions, I am inviting @manuelhooks, @kesybliss and @eliany to participate in this contest.
Are we all sacrificing peace to make money?
What a thought provoking question that is worth thinking about and putting it into writing.
I can beat my chest and say that many people prioritise financial stability over peace even when peace and wellbeing are very important.
In today's world, many people sacrifices their peace to making of wealth and material success which sometimes can lead to stress, burnout and unsatisfied life.
I think the most important thing to do is finding a way where we can balance between peace and money. Though is not always easy to strike a balance but if we prioritise self care, inner peace and contentment, we can cultivate that calmness we need and be contented in what we have without burning out and over stressing ourselves.
One thing we should remember is that, if we sacrefice our health to make money, at some point, we will be struggling to buy back that health that we had sacrificed earlier but the reality is that the money we made cannot buy our health that we had sacrificed.
Which is wiser to spend and earn or to spend after earning and saving?
From my own viewpoint, I think the wise approach to this question is earning, after earning, we save and after saving we spend.
Source saving before spending
It is better to secure our finances and give it a solid foundation and try as much as we could to keep aside funds for the rainny days, tough days never escape us and as such, we need to set aside funds for that.
Before buying things, we need to budget for them first and when purchasing, we dont have to exceed our budget, all we need to do is spend within our budget.
By spending within our budget, we will avoid debts and and unnecessary spending that will help us to invest for the future no matter how small it may be.
When we earn and save before spending, we will enjoy peace of mind and enjoy long term financial stability.
Spending and earning can lead people to financial stress, accumulation of debts, and future uncertainties.
I would recommend saving and earning before spending because I see it as a wise approach to financial stability and peace of mind.
Apart from money, what brings you peace and happiness?
Apart from money, there are many other things that can bring me peace and happiness. Some of them are;
- Spending quality time with my friends and family members.
- Eating healthy food and drinks
- Listening to my favourite music 🎶, television programmes and movies.
- Putting smiles 😃 on other people's faces by helping them.
- Seeing my children perform well in school and in other aspects of life.
- Visiting places of interest and watching and appreciating beautiful environment.
- Being appreciated by my husband and my children.
Having good time with my family makes me happy.
Conclusion
Money is needed in order to survive but when money is prioritise it causes stress and anxieties.
Money is not the only thing that contribute to happiness there are other things that help makes us happier.
We need to strike a balance between money and peace so that we can be truly happy.
True happiness and wealth is made up of both finances and peace of mind.

Absolutely. But then in this critical time,it's hard to save. When we are depressed of money, our peace is at stake. Therefore we should always make a balance between finances and peace for human want is insatiable.
Upu are right, we are living in a critical time and things are hard, but then we can still save the little we can.

You are right, money is important. It is said that money stops nonsense, but we shouldn't make it at the expense of our peace. It's important that we strike a balance between money and peace because we need both in our lives. Money and peace are very important for man. Some people in the world earn money but cannot earn peace. This is the reason why man always runs in the race of money and forgets himself to give him peace and tranquility. There is a need for peace, this is the reason why most of the time people don't worry about their lives.
Peace of mind is paramount though having your own money can also bring some kind of inner peace especially with this economy wahala and again, many are finding it difficult to save due to excess hunger.
