Hope you all are doing well and good and enjoying the best days of your life. This is me @shahid2030 from Pakistan and you are here reading my post. You all are welcome here from the core of my heart.
This is my participation in a contest How is democracy functioning in your country organized in Hindwhale Community by @hindwhale.
Democracy is the best way of life. It's the best ever governing system in the world. Abraham Lincoln once said
Democracy is a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
So this is the real definition of democracy. It aim is to give importance to the point of view of the public. Let's discuss all the factors of democracy in the article below.
How is democracy functioning in your country |

With great sadness and unfortunate tune I am saying that democracy is in it's worse form in my country. I belong to Pakistan, a South Asian country. I have a huge population of over 220 millions people. We got independence from Britain in 1947, but we are still captured. We don't have freedom. We don't have freedom of speech, freedom of opinion, even freedom of vote. Look at the paradox in democratic country we don't have the freedom to vote.
As of my personal believes it I am not even 10% satisfied with the democracy in our country. We are still colonized, we are still in prison. We still face torture if we speak up. I am repeating, unfortunately democracy is in it's worse form in Pakistan. It's almost dead.

The answer to this question is no, even a big no. It's a fact that we got independent from Britishers in 1947, but it's true too that since then we are kept suppressive. All the things are in control of the establishment. They do whatever they want to do.
No one can speak against them, no one can go against them. They are the dominant power of the state. In established I am our Army. They have all the power of in their hands. They are the decision makers of the country. If you express these views in digital media or social media, then they black vego kidnap you the very next day.

Pakistan is very rich with natural resources. If i could be minerals or agriculture. It produces more than sufficient food. What we lack is an honest and brave leadership. The top political leaders in Pakistan are the world top 10 corrupt persons in the world. Asif Ali Zardai and Nawaz sharif are included in this list. Zardai is famous for Mr 10 percent in the world. Let me share the production statistics of Pakistan, you will get shocked seeing it.

| Only country in the world with 65% youth population |
These are the natural resources of Pakistan and still we have billions of dollars on us. Pakistan has a total debt of 126919 Millions dollar.

These days Pakistan is going through severe economic crisis. The corrupt politicians are bagging now different countries for loan. Sometimes they go to Gulf country for help and sometime to IMF. You will not believe me I have studied a report, it was written in it that 90 thousands technocrats ( it includes doctors, PhD scholars, Engineers) who left Pakistan just in 2023.
Only in this one year that much great amount of intellectuals left Pakistan. Now you can imagine the condition of Pakistan and I think I don't need to answer the question, the reader themselves will know what should be the answer to this question.
What you want your country to be like? |

I want my country to be a welfare state, where everyone is equal. Where there is no discrimination between rich and poor. A country where the state accept the responsibility to look after the property and family of a person. This is what I want my country Pakistan to be and InshAllah a day will come we will see Pakistan having these things.

You want your country "to be a welfare state" huh? "Where everyone is equal"? What does this even mean? When I play basketball, am I "equal" to a 7' basketball NBA player? When I visit Pakistan, am I "equal" in conversing in Pakistani to Pakistanis, even though I do not speak the language there?
What is "democracy"? Do you even have any idea?
