On this occasion I will take part in a Steemit Engagement Challenge (SEC) entitled "How are social medias affecting our society in both good and bad ways? " I hope that all my friends will be willing to read and give their responses.
Social media is a digital platform that provides all the information services we want to obtain. Examples that are very popular today include Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Twitter. Social media facilitates fast communication, sharing information, and building virtual communities. Below I will also answer some questions about social media.
Social media provides great benefits to society by expanding access to information and education. The platform facilitates communication and strengthens relationships, allowing people to connect with family and friends and find groups with similar interests. Social media has also become an important tool in social activity, facilitating the spread of messages and mobilization for various issues. In an economic context, it opens up marketing and business development opportunities. Additionally, social media can provide emotional and practical support through online groups and forums. However, wise use is necessary to avoid negative impacts such as the spread of misinformation and personal problems.
Social media can facilitate a variety of crimes in our society. Scams often target users with fake offers, such as investment scams. Identity theft is on the rise as personal information is shared widely. Callers impersonating social media operators are also a problem, with harassment affecting victims’ mental health. In addition, social media often spreads fake news, influencing public opinion and causing panic. Blackmail and sexual exploitation, often using personal data, are also serious threats. Addiction to social media can be detrimental to the well-being of anyone who uses it. Tackling these crimes requires education, strict privacy settings, and regulation and support from platforms and authorities.
For the general public, social media provides convenience for communication, information, and social networking, allowing users to share experiences, ideas, and knowledge quickly. This system also supports social awareness campaigns and active processes. For corporate companies, social media is a powerful marketing tool, expanding the reach of users and increasing customer engagement. Companies can monitor trends, conduct market research, and build brands more effectively. Social media also allows direct interaction with customers, improving service and response. However, these benefits must be balanced with awareness of the risks that will be obtained such as privacy and security. Wise use is one factor in maximizing the benefits of social media.
Social media does offer various conveniences in terms of communicating and obtaining information quickly, especially as now everything spreads very quickly via social media.
While social media can expand networks and provide opportunities, judicious use and awareness of risks are key. In conclusion, social media has great potential if used carefully, but users need to maintain balance and be aware of the side effects that may arise.

Las redes sociales marcan nuestro día a día, creo que desde que inicia el día muchos estamos pendiente de las redes sociales ya sea para comunicarnos con nuestros familiares o para leer las noticias o sencillamente para encontrar entretenimiento. Y eso está bien porque son las ventajas que ella brinda.
Sin embargo el pasar mucho tiempo en redes sociales nos puedes llegar al punto de ser dependientes de ellas y originar en nosotros adicción que es uno de los grandes males, que hay que evitar de las redes sociales.
Las redes sociales no son el problema El problema es el mal uso que le demos a ella por eso hay que ser responsables y cuidadosos a la hora de usar y dejar que nuestros hijos usen redes sociales.
