Hi Steemians,
It's another day of the week and I'm delighted to participate in this contest today organized by @jyoti-thelight which talks about HWC Contest #38|| POWERUP & WIN WEEK 29. I will be making my entry below so read through it and drop your valuable comment as it will be appreciated.

I'm always an advocate of power-ups. Though I have recently made a power but even at that I have also decided to join this very one for the week. I know I don't have much Steem to power up due to a lack of support for the week. So this week, I will show you all how I was able to power up 16.236 Steem.

The procedure to do this is always the same hence I will show it again for those who are new here or those who don't know how to do it and also for the sake of the contest as it requires complete detail to this procedure.

Login to your account and let it be in the format of the screenshot as seen below.

Click on the drop-down menu close to the Steem token and then select the power-up option as you can see from the screenshot below.

Enter the amount of Steem you wish to convert to SP and then click on the power-up button as indicated in the screenshot below. Here I'm powering 16.236 Steem.

Confirm your transfer to vesting by checking and ensuring that all details you have entered are valid then click on the OK button as seen in the screenshot below.

Go back to your Steemit wallet and then check if the Steem has been added to the SP. You can confirm this by checking the first screenshot above and see if the SP increased or not. In my case, there is an increase as seen in the screenshot below.

Write the importance of performing powerup.

One of the major importance of performing power-ups is that it gives you the privilege to participate in all the happenings on the Steemit platform such as contests and also voting commenting and many more.

Power up also helps you to earn more rewards and people within the platform will always want to tag you for assistance as well. With high SP which is a result of power-up, you will become a big shareholder in the platform where people will always wish to see your support on their posts.

Power up also helps the platform to grow because it helps to increase the price of the Steem token which is the desire of all Steemians as we all hold more of the token and less in an exchange.

There are many more reasons or importance of powering up our Steem but the few listed above are the ones I consider as basic at the moment.
